It sounds like there is a bear wire inside the iron touching the case causing the shock. You have to take the iron apart and look for wires with cracked insulation and replace them or wrap electrical tape around the bear part.

How do you get to the fuse in the dc28?

The 3-pin mains plug will have a plastic fuse holder which can be levered open with a small screwdriver. Look on the pin side of the plug. There will also be small writing on the plug to tell you which size of fuse is fitted to the plug. Replace with the same size of fuse. It is important to note that the fuse in the mains plug is only likely to blow if there is an electrical issue inside the machine, so replacing the fuse may just result in the fuse blowing again. If this happens then the vacuum needs proper checking and repair. DO NOT try using a bigger fuse, as you may cause more damage to the vacuum, or cable overheating or risk of electric shock.

Why does my bissell vacuum keep shocking me

Likely you have a short in the wiring somewhere. If you have a powerhead with a power cord that runs through the vacuum hose that might be the problelm. Check your cords closely. Is it possible you are just getting a static elecricity shock due to dry weather? If you think you are getting a shock, stop using the product until you have resolved the issue.

Iron will not heat up

See the causes and proceed according, fix it. God bless you
If the iron doesn't heat, make sure power is on to the outlet, check the electrical cord, and check the thermostat (see the Appliance Controls Fix-It Guide) and replace if necessary.
If the iron heats but steams improperly, inspect the soleplate and clean the vents (see below) and flush sediment out of the steam chamber (see below).
If the iron produces too much or too little heat, test the electrical cord. Also test and, if needed, adjust calibration of the thermostat (see the Appliance Controls Fix-It Guide).

I need to replace the plug in cord on my rowenta iron. I would replace but I paid $130 for iron and my cats have chewed on the cord so I thought it "might" be a simple replacement.

This is the second cat-chewed-a-wire question tonight.

The only thing to do is to replace the entire cord. You could cut out the chewed section and splice it with **** connectors and electrical tape, but you have a nice iron with a 12' cord. I believe Rowenta uses Torx screws on their irons.

Rowenta has customer support and a list of service centers online:

If you are in the U.S., go to:

http://www.rowentausa.com

and then click on the 'CUSTOMER SERVICE' link on the gray bar below center of the page.

In the 'After Sales Services' column, click on 'Service Centres' and look for one close to you. Perhaps you can order a new cord and use the old cord as a chew-toy decoy.

Good luck from Detroit, MI.

I need instructions on how to clean Digital Advantage Iron. I have lost my manual.

any iron can be cleaned by running a little water and vinegar through it several times, it loosens the scale build up that gets in all irons over time, be sure and try to clean out the venting steam holes in the face of the iron, Once you do this, run clean clear water through it and you should be fine, if possible, always use bottled water (purified) water in irons

I cant detect where the damage but it dosn't work or even the light indicator didn't open, no heat even in maximum level, i plug in for almost an hour but the iron is not responding or not really working...

if it's an old iron, then maybe there is some loose wire inside, which could be fixed with proper tools and some knowledge of electricity, but if you are not familiar with taking apart electric appliances - you should just replace it, because it is possible to get electircuted or cause a fire.

Often when ironing, the iron{tefal aquaspeed 160] will spit dirty water on whatever I'm ironing.are you supposed to use botled water in iron?Aren't tefal irons made for tap water? Also how do you stop iron...

Try using CLR cleaner, if not just buy a new one, and keep the receipt for a return down the road, these iron's are reasonable nowadays.

Euro-pro iron. red light on. green light blinks on but iron will not heat up. lights do not progress through yellow (does not go past green) purchased from walmart with warranty extention on 12/08. ...

When the green light stops blinking and is solid, the iron is ready for use. Touch the handle and begin using. but as you mentioned that green light is blinking and the iron is not heating then there is definitely a short in wire some where it has to be checked.most probably its the short in the heating coil wire.but if the heating coil wire is proper and not short then your irons heating coil probally went bad its alot cheaper to just buy a new iron .because heating coil costs near to new iron.but still get confirm if its short in wire. This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya
