1 Answer

The Brinks Model 42-1014 fails after a few weeks. The motor that turns the timer dial is not strong enought to trigger the on switch. I can move the dial by hand to turn it on and it does turn off but...

I agree.
I test timers.
Brinks timers are near lowest quality of all timer brands, yet all timer manufactures sell lower end products to meet price points. Brinks are probably made by one of the bigger brands.

Test your outlet with cheap circuit analyzer from box store to make sure that polarity of outlet is not reversed. Notice that Brinks timers, like most plug-in timers, have polarized plug.
Polarized plug has wide and narrow blades so they plug into outlet correctly.
Wide blade is for Neutral, and narrow blade is for Hot.
If outlet has polarity reversed, this will adversely affect timer motors, and other appliances.

I am looking for a new blade for this product. Do you have them and what is the cost?

Compare the price of a new blade versus a new BURR grinder.

BURR grinders are more consistent for grinding coffee, blade grinders, you have to guess and some grounds will be finer than others.

This is the reason you don't see a BLADE coffee grinder for commercial applications.

There are some good home burr grinders (some with a timer) and not that expensive.

How to change the timer on WGD5800SW0

First things first, disconnect power to the dryer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Remove the screws attaching the console to the rear of the machine then use a putty knife blade or similar tool to push and release the clips holding the console in place to the top of the machine. Push the putty knife blade rearward under the front corners of the console until the clips are released. Pull the timer knob off then flip the console to access the timer.

Remove the screws securing the timer to the console bracket then secure the new timer in place. Disconnect the wires from the old timer one at a time then connect it to the new timer to prevent messing up the wires.

Push down the console down onto the top of the machine to engage the clips then secure the console back into position.

Note: The timer is part number 3406725.

I rfeset timer to turn on earlier - now the lights won't turn on

Randi, first thing to do is to change the battery and see if the timer will allow you to reprogram it. Sometimes these timers fail, as certain models have a known history of failing fairly often.

NoOp, means non operating within the Intermatic line of electronic timers, so in order to see if the unit has failed or is just malfunctioning, due to a weak battery, remove the existing battery and install a fresh, new one.

You can remove the existing battery by flipping down the front switch panel and removing the battery tray with either your fingernail or a small flat bladed screwdriver. As your timer is showing the NoOp, you don't have to worry about losing your programmed on/off cycles, so you can take your time. Normally, if you're changing the battery, you get about 30 seconds to do this with some models of Intermatic timers, or you'll lose the settings. The newer models store the program regardless of how long it takes to change the battery.

Once you've replaced the battery, press the Reset button on the timer and allow it to refresh. If the NoOp is gone, just reprogram the timer with your on/off cycles and days and you're back in action. If the timer doesn't clear, you'll likely need to replace it, as it could be damaged and will not be able to be programmed again.

Usually, changing the battery and resetting the timer works about 60% of the time for me, as I've installed thousands of the various Intermatic timers in customer's homes over the years.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Intermatic Model DT 121 "LO" after programming

That is the visual indication for a "LO" battery. You need to replace the battery very soon or the timer will cease working properly.

Typically with this model of Intermatic timer, you only have about 30-40 seconds to change out the battery before the programming is erased and you'll have to re-enter your desired on/off cycles and such.

The battery is located under the manual push faceplate, just flip it down and you can either use a small flat bladed screwdriver or your fingernail to open up the battery compartment to change out the battery.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Chef classic wall oven with digital clock change time?

Press the TIMER button (the leftmost one with a little bell icon) and the "cooking" button (the one next to it with a "hot saucepan" icon) briefly at the same time. Within four seconds start changing the time with the + or - buttons. When you have the correct time just leave it and it will leave time setting mode four seconds after the last button press.
