Mine had the same problem, replaced the fuse with a T2.5 amp.
Ammeter gave a reading of 1.6A across the fuse pads so we shall see if its pops...

Suddenly, after no previous problems, when computer (Mac- G5, older, not intel) started up in the morning, the monitor, although power light on, displays only black screen. Monitor is lcd Formac- not...

Try hooking it up to another PC first, but more likely to have failure in the power supply caps or failed inverter cicuits.

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

VX900 19 in. Flat Panel LCD Monitor: when i turn it on the screen is black....

You may have backlight inverter failure, check the fuse as shown in my pictures, you can also have bad backlight assemblies also, but check the fuse on the inverter bd first, verify that you do have 12v at the fuse.

Why ismy screen is flickering?

You may have failing AC power supply adapter, backlight inverter board, backlight lamp assemblies (poor solder connection), bad soldering works, burnt parts. You will need to troublehsooting it to component level to repair it.

It sounds like the backlight inverter circuits have gone out, or the lamps assemblies.

There could be two possible failures:
1. The backlights are defective (not a common failure for a 14 months old LCD) or the backlights driver/inverter is defective.
2. Power supply failure(very common failure on LCDs) will cause the symptoms you described.

Formac Gallery Monitor

Looks like the water is getting in to the LCD contacts. Or corroding them. If the monitor can be opened safely open it and place in a warm dry environment for a few days. Silica dehumidifiers may help.
If the issue is not permanent this may fix it.
