Hello darlington4 ,
You can't format the supporting OS drive ( usally C ) but if your intention is to install a new OS version on your machine , just insert the install disc and follow instructions . The existing O.S. will automaticaly be erased .
Otherwise , you need to extract the drive from tour machine and format it with another healthy computer by connecting it via usb or as secundary .
Best regards ,

Hi, it's very easy. Just buy a licensed Windows CD Installer.
Start your pc, insert the cd then upon boot up, you will be asked to press any key to boot from cd.
Just press any key then Windows installation will start.
Just follow the instructions on screen then you will be able to format your computer.
You will also be asked if you want to partition and format your hard drive. Just select if you want to or not then proceed with the installation.
The whole process takes about an hour depending on the speed of your computer.

Cannot open drive E on Iomega zip 100

Assuming you have connected the drive and then restarted the computer with the drive connected and powered on... if it is model 31714 (not the same as the picture no power supply is required - if power supply is required make sure unit is powered on prior to connecting)

First guess at your problem. Your disks are formatted for a operating system other than what you are using. (Mac formatted disks on a PC or the other way around)

If you don't know how the disks were formatted you could test this by letting it get to the "insert disk" and then trying to right click and see if you have a format option ... note this will erase all information on the disks.. you will likely need to long format

Second guess the drive is bad... have seen cases where the drive is bad. If you have another computer you can use try hooking the computer up to another computer and see if you get the same result.

Let me know if this does not work and specific model number and op system I might have more ideas. I can also point you to a replacement If I know more about your system.

How to format mine (unable to format system storage(802E1002) ?

Not having my PSP in front of me and not knowing what model you have, or what kind of computer or OS you are trying to do this with, I believe there may be an option to format the memory card from the PSP itself. I believe there has to be an option somewhere on the PSP to do this. My reasoning is that if you put in a brand new memory card, it needs to be prepared for use in the PSP. In other words, the PSP installs files on the memory card so it *knows* how to communicate with it. Basically, it installs a file system on it, much like your computer does when setting up the OS.
Pull out the memory card and plug it into a card reader that is hooked to a computer. Then, as it shows up on the *My Computer* screen, right click on the memory card and select format. Be sure you have the right card selected for formatting, or you could hose your computer.

To format it Connect it to the computer, go to My computer-> right click on the mp3/mp4 player after it is displayed-> select format-> Format it as FAT32 File system. Formatting the MP3/MP4 player will delete all the songs/data from the player. So, backup all data before formatting it. Hope this helps...

Format the hard drive and reinstall the OS. You will need the original Vista Disk or Vista Restore Disk you created after your bought the computer. Once you format the hard drive and reinstall the operating system it will be just as it was when you first turned it on. Know that you will loose everything on the computer when you format the hard drive. Back up what you do not want to loose.
