All the ring does is reduce the fan performance by about 25% Its a thin aluminium inch and a bit width.

The most common problems with a gas dryer can be Blown fuse on blower housing clog lint causing excessive heat, open flame sensor, open ignitor, faulty solenoids that sometimes work once then quit then work again after a long cool down. The blower wheel is plastic. They wobble out over time and cause a drop in airflow resulting in very poor performance. That is about all the smart pills I know. Here is how it works and how to replace them pesky coils a home movie from me.

What type of life jackets are there?

There are 5 types of life Jackets and they differ from one another in performance and equipment attached to them. Type 4 is not a life jacket but a throwable device like a wheel. Remember - the lower the number, the better the performance. Hence, Type I is better than Type II

My car have 1.5 engine and have 14 inch stock magz and tire size, can i change to 17inches without any problem with transmission and engine?

My experience tells me NO! When you MODIFY the wheel base with tires/wheels which were NOT designed/engineered for that vehicle, you CAUSE other problems which (to laymen) are UNPREDICTABLE. First of all, the braking system and its performance are compromised (meaning, the brakes will require more pressure/performance to stop/slow the vehicle - number one issue.) The larger wheel/tire assembly will require an EXPERT to properly 'ALIGN' them... OTHERWISE you could end up wearing out tires before their life-time. Whenever one modifies/changes an original vehicle configuration (wheel base, braking system performance, wheel alignment specification, etc.,) one takes/accepts the risks/outcomes of those modifications -- talk with (not to) the experts. Someone wants to sell you 'custom' wheels???.... when in doubt, find OUT!

My son put the wrong gas in my blower (no oil). I caught it before it blew up but it did start to slow down. Now it seems to have compression and spark but won't start. Is it toast or is there some trouble...

Hi, as long as it is not seized you may recover this unit. However, the condition of the piston and rings will affect the performance. You can check if they are badly scored by removing the muffler and pulling the recoil to see the piston as it rises and falls. If they are badly scored, and the rings are fused with the piston, then they need to be replaced. If this looks ok, then try pouring a little bit of gas mix into the combustion chamber via the spark plug hole. Replace the spark plug and try it. If you have spark the engine will have no choice but to ignite that fuel. Good luck.

My dryer is taking forever to dry clothes. Very damp and a lot of condensation when I open the dryer. It's model # MDE508DAYW

Good day,
Sounds like the vent system is badly blocked, the blower wheel has stripped off it's shaft, or there is a lot of lint in the blower wheel/lint screen area.
1. Remove the vent hose and see if your getting air moving thru smarty. Maytag moves a lot of air. If O.K. test dryer with vent off for performance. Clean or replace vent hose as needed.
2. Blower wheel sheared on it's shaft. You have to remove the front panel to see if the wheel is loose. Old version had 2 screws on the bottom of the front panel. Remove, disconnect door switch wires and remove. New style (no screws on bottom) requires a putty knife forced on each corner of where the top meets the front. About an 1 1/2 inch in from the edge. Force in, releasing clip, and pulling the top of the front panel toward you. Lift off.

Should the blower wheel be bad, replace but make sure the area between the blower wheel and door filter are cleaned.

The blower wheel is making a lot of noise. How do

Remove the front face of the dryer and continue to disassemble the dryer until you have access to the blower wheel. The blower wheel is manufactured with a D shaped hole in the middle. If the whole on the inside of the blower wheel become rounded, then the wheel rotates at a different speed than your motor, causing the loud vibrations you have been hearing.

Using the pliers, remove the holding pin & blower wheel clamp. The clamp is the green ring and the pin is the small horse-shoe shaped pin with an arrow pointing to it.

Pull the old blower wheel off. You should see that the whole in the center is round rather than D-shaped.

Put the new blower wheel in place.

Replace the ring clamp & holding pin.

Re-assemble the dryer.
