Not sure what model tv you have but there should be a menu on the tv. seach thru it and select the zoom option if not. shut and unplug the tv for 20 minutes that will reset it back to factory settings for you let me know if this helps!

How do I make the screen on my sanyo tv full- It has a black bar top and bottom

Your TV remote control (not the cable box remote control) would have to have a button that would allow the changing of the TV screen sizes. My Sony TV control has a button called, ' wide', and when pressed will change my screen to either, full, wide zoom, and zoom. Only zoom gets rid of the black bars on my TV. If no button, than the screen size will be determined by the broadcaster.

LG 50" the pitcher is off the screen each side by

Ok, first make sure you or someone in family didn't hit the "HD Zoom" on your cable remote or whatever kind of remote you have. On ours - Cable- if you hit it once it is in "Normal" picture which on ours has black around edges on a non Hd channel. Then if you hit it again it Zooms once makes pix very large and if you hit button a third time brings it into a wide screen Zoom that fills the Tv screen. If we are viewing HD channels I put it on Normal which will fill the screen and give you the best HD pix. If we are viewing a NON HD channel, then normal will have black on sides, so I hit the Zoom a couple times to fill in the screen. My brother in law had this problem and couldn't figure out why his Sports channel Scores were always half cut off the screen! it was zoomed in too much for that channel. His sports channel was in HD so needed to be on normal instead of zoomed in.
if it is not the Cable remote then this is a second possible cause:

The other thing that happened to me was - we hardly ever use our original TV remote that came with the TV. but one day our picture looked weird and the cable remote didn't adjust it. One of us had hit the "P SIZE" button on the TV remote. this changes your pix from - 4:3 ratio to 16:9 ratio and vice versa. I put clicked that button and on the TV it shows whether it is at 4:3 or 16:9. For newer wide screen TVs you want that set at 16:9 ratio.

All cable company remotes probably are a bit different so check with your company ... to find out where the zoom control is on their remote.

I can't get the zoom to decrease on my tv. is it a problem with the tv, or the cable box?

This is the TV. Look for an aspect ratio or picture size or other wording button on the TV's remote control and READ your TV owner's manual. John

TV zoomed in

Look at your remote or On-screen menus for ratio settings. The remote might say zoom or ratio. The menus will probably have it under video and then Aspect Ratio. You'll probably need to hit go through several settings to get to the correct ratio. (some choices are 4:3, 16:9, Full-screen - the best choice depends on the set and the source video)

I hope this helps.

(my remote (slightly different TV) has the zoom just above mute so I hit the wrong button often.)

HD TV screen is zoomed to far out. How do

Use the Picture, Zoom, or Aspect button on the TV remote to cycle through the available screen sizes. You may also be able to set screen size in a Setup-Picture (or Video) menu.

Heads are cut off off

It sounds like you may have the zoom mode enabled on the TV source. A lot of HDTVs have settings for how different modes like 4:3 format source video is displayed such as Normal, Full, Wide, Zoom and Wide Zoom. Each signal input may have a different display mode and that is why DVDs look ok and TV does not. Not all TVs have that feature but most of the ones that I have dealt with do.
It may also be a screen centre adjustment in the cable box or satellite receiver.

I hope I was able to give you a viable solution.

Cheers
