Question about GE Washing Machines

Open Question

My washer model GTWN5050MOWS beeps twice when I select a cycle then press start and repeats beeps in 30 seconds. What do the beeps mean? The lid is down, water is connected and on, obviously it is plugged in, and there are no other sounds. The rest of the machine is absolutely silent.

With the machine plugged into the wall and
turned on and the headset turned off this is what
you do.
Push and hold down the start button, while doing that you need to then push and hold down the power button.
Hold them down for about 5 seconds, during
which time you may a series of up to 3 beeps.
Then release the buttons.
Turn the machine off and then on again followed by the start button. Allow the machine to then run the complete cycle.
This should correct your problem, if this doesn't then you may need to then look at replacing the computer panels.

I had the same problem. Redistributing the clothes inside the machine seems to do the trick. Even though the clothes seemed evenly distributed and I had far less than maximum capacity in the machine- it seemed to think that something was out of sync- simply moving the clothes around did the trick!

The washer is detecting error while it enters wash cycle. You can try and enter the diagnostic mode & check if it resolves the issue. If it doesn't then you would need check for the fault codes.

To enter Diagnostic Mode turn the power on at the power point and off at the console. Press and hold the WASH TEMPERATURE DOWN then press the POWER button. Smartdrive will give 2 short beeps. Phase 1 & 2 Only press ADVANCE button once. From Diagnostic mode press the SPIN buttons until the HOLD and SLOW SPIN LEDs are on, (Diagnostic mode level 3). The WASH PROGRESS LEDs will now display the fault code.

Hope this helps... Please post back if you need further assistance.

LE error apears in the screen, what does it mean?

First, what brand of washer is this? For LG washers, an LE code can be minor or a major issue.

Do you see suds in the machine? Then this could be the result of too much detergent in the washer. Unplug the washer and wait 30 minutes. Then plug in the washer and press the power button. Press the Spin Speed button until the No Spin option is selected (do not choose a wash cycle). Then press Start/Pause to drain the washer. Remove the clothing from the washer. Select a Rinse and Spin cycle and start the cycle. (Repeat this rinse, spin and drain until there are no visible suds left in the machine.) Use HE detergent and make sure to follow the manufacturer's directions for the amount of detergent to use for future loads.

Did you overload the washer? Remove some items from the washer and see if the error repeats. If it does, unplug the washer for 30 minutes to let the motor cool and then restart.

Were you using a gentle cycle with a large load? Unplug the washer and press and hold Start/Pause for 5+ seconds. This will reset the machine. Plug the washer back in and press Power. Test with a rinse and spin cycle.

A new washer can also need the above reset option when the controller and motor have a communication error.

The final possibility is a true locked motor error. This could be the result of loose or bad wiring harnesses, a bad motor, a bad hall effect sensor or even a bad door lock switch. The For many LG front load machines, the controller or the wiring harness (or individual wires in the group) fail early. If the unit is loud, the rotor is a good place to start. The hall effect sensor checks if the motor is doing the steps that the controller indicates is needed in a specific part of the wash program.

If the unit is still under warranty, call the manufacturer for service. Otherwise, you'll need to check a number of points. Check all of the wiring for voltage (incoming and return). Check the motor windings for resistance (5-15 ohms on most models).

Please add a brand and model number for specifics (or Google the LE code and see if your model is described).

I hope this helps.

May tag 5000. f35 what does that mean

"F35" means Analog Pressure Sensor Failure

If the washer does not accept inputs from the control panel, follow the Hard Reset steps below to reset the control:
Unplug or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.
Plug the power cord into the wall outlet or turn the breaker back on and wait 30 seconds.
Press the Pause / Cancel / Stop button twice to clear the display.
Start a short cycle, to check operation of the appliance, by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the appliance starts.

Note: If the Hard Reset does not work, there may be an internal failure with the washer, that requires service.

Hope this helps.

My Whirlpool Duet Front Load Washing Machine is showing a F28 error. What does that mean?

F28 is a communication error which usually means there is a connection that has come loose. Removing the top and unpplugging and replugging the connectors in will fix 75% of these codes. If the bottom toe panel is not on it will also give you an F28
  • Unplug or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect the unit to the power source by turning the breaker back on or plugging the unit back into the wall outlet.
  • Press the Pause/Cancel/Stop button twice to clear the display.
  • Start a short cycle to check the operation of the machine by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the machine starts if you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation when our chat has concluded Thanks again Rick

Mid-cycle, the washer stopped and started to beep repeatedly. on the screen flashed F, then H. I can not longer find my manual. can you help?

Thanks for using FixYa. Error code F/H means no water was detected entering machine or Pressure switch trip not detected. If after 30 seconds the control does not detect water entering machine and then valves will be turned off and the error code will be displayed. It can also happen if the control has turned the water valves on and after 8 minutes the flow meter has detected 10.5 gallons of water passing through it, but has not detected the pressure switch trip, the valves will be turned off and the error code will flash. You?ll need to Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display. Please rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Le error what does it mean?

    Initially unplug the washing machine.
While the washer remains unplugged, press and hold the [Start/Pause] button on the front panel for 5 seconds.
Plug the unit back in, and run a rinse and spin cycle to test if the LE code is cleared.

If you still face problem then follow the procedure :
Unplug the washer and allow the unit to sit for 30 minutes to give the suds time to dissolve.
Plug the washer back in and press [Power] to turn on the washer.
Do not choose a washing cycle. Press the [Spin Speed] key until "No Spin" is selected.
Press [Start/Pause] to begin a drain only cycle.
After the drain only cycle has completed, remove the clothing items from the machine. Turn the power back on and select [Rinse and Spin] and then press [Start/Pause]. This will remove excess soap suds and light residue from the drum. Repeat this step until no visible suds are in the drum of the washer.

    Hope this helps .

    3 beeps mean what

If the only thing that happens is three rapid beeps when you select a feature from the console this is usually a symptom of a defective door switch.  The door switch must be closed to complete the circuit from the timer to the heating circuit and drive motor.  If the switch is bad, or the wiring is broken, the dryer will not run.
