Ihave a glo-ray free-standing rinnai heater.LPgas iwould like to change it with a NG kit #pc104f -1-4.7 assy#66n

the only difference between lpg and ng is the jet sizes in the burbers. you can get the jets from any BBQ shop. when fitted adjust the air shield around burner inlets to correct for the different gas . Moving the shiels in or out changes the air /gas mixture to give blue flame.

Flames coming out the front of BBQ - I have checked for spider webs inside and at the knobs - I started it again and the same thing happened. The flames are spilling out over the BBQ

I would check the burners are not blocked , or you have a laek on your bbq at one of the control knobs . Not sure now many control knbs you have try testing one at a time for leaks

Our Rinnai Symmetry heater's flame will not go higher than 4 we have left it on for more than 3 hrs and nothing changes. It is only new with twice being lit, the smell is still there too.

If you are using the Thermostat Mode, the flame height automatically sets itself to the operate flame height and fan speed to maintain that temperature setting. However, when the pilot is lit each time, after having been turned OFF, the flame height automatically goes to the highest setting, then after a few moments adjust to what the microprocessor determines is the proper flame height, based on the thermostat setting. If the room is very cold, the flame height will remain on High until the room starts to warm up to the preset temperature. Gradually, the flame will lower, as the room reaches the set temperature, as will the blower speed.

As far as the odor is concerned. The unit may not have been continually burned on a high flame setting long enough (at least 1 hour) for all of the oils to burn Off and the unit cures. This should be done a fairly mild day, when a window can be opened to allow the odor to go out the window. If the odor continues, it may may be due to what Rinnia calls an "Abnormal Flame Pattern". Which can be caused by a misplaced log on the burner, poor gas pressure, a clogged burner or an obstructed exhaust vent. This requires a service call from your local Rinnai dealer to solve.

In case you have misplace your Owner's Manual, I have included a link to it that you can download & print for future reference. http://www.rinnai.com.au/images/stories/operating_instructions/Heating/Flames/Symmetry_Operation_Manual.pdf

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa. Cheers...

Older style Rinnai gas heater pilot light flame very large more yellow then blue..approx stays at 4inches even once burners are lit. Heater has 6 small burners and a brown cover.

not a problem. however, if you want to shrink it down... it's hard to say just what your gas valve is like. There should be 2 spots on it for adjustments, the larger slot (should be covered by a brass plug) adjusts the main burner output, the smaller adjusts pilot output. crank it down and watch the pilot shrink, but in this situation bigger is better. the pilot creates an electrical signal that opens the gas valve, you don't want that signal to be too weak.
It would be wise to clean the pilot supply, to have a cleaner flame. pressurized air does well with out having to remove it.

Weber Silver BBQ has 3 burners only 1 has normal flame.

you may have to remove the burners and clean the inside of them. they could have insect webs inside preventing the flow of gas. hope this helps. also, try opening the tank really slowly.

Flame problem

check the holes the flames come out of, they may be clogged, you may need to clean with a wire brush, if rusty then replace the burners. easy to replace
