Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

I have a Kenmore elite dishwasher stainless steal model #665.17262402 and it will not drain. It is 6 years old and it was not cleaning and leaving soap after each use. The machine crashed and the clean green light was flashing so I reset it and it worked, but after cleaning out the tub and the bottom drain area, I took off the cover and checked the check value for obstruction, I found all kinds of debre. However I found a piece of glass and when I picked it up it fell into one of the drain hole and I could not fish it out. I now pulled off the bottom panel and pulled off the hose and found little debre, but cannot pull the dishwasher out due to the old owners of our home have installed higher flooring. Any ideas on how to fish the glass out. When i push the drain button it does not do anything even though it will wash and run and not drain?

There should be a filter in the bottom under the spray arm. There should be 4 to 8 screws to remove to get to the filter, and clean.

Check to see if it is filling with water and not draining it right back out. Give model number so I can look for a diagram to repair. Just fixed mine as it was doing the same thing.

Hi

If you are noticing that the dishes are not clean, then there are a few things to check for. Check the soap powder if it's kept in a dry environment. Also try replacing the powder with something like a gel or liquid. Next thing to check for is the water pressure and fill valve. Check if the water is filling in and the spray arms are throwing the water with enough pressure. Try and listen to the sound if you hear a proper spraying action sound. If it seems as a low water pressure then check the fill valve.
Now, check if dishwasher is draining the water or not. While the dishwasher is working check whether the dishwasher is draining and there is not much left out water after the cycle is complete. Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump. Hope this helps......
