Most likely it is a worn walk belt and deck. Even if they look OK they can be causing too much friction and making the motor struggle. I have seen a weak motor do this as well as a motor controller . But since it runs fine until you get on it, it sounds like a friction issue. Nordictrack treadmills require silicone lubrication underneath the walk belt between the belt and the deck. It is usually too late for lubrication to solve the problem when it gets to this point but if you lubricate it and it helps, you will know it is most likely a friction issue. Even if the lube helps i would change the walk belt and the platform (some have a mylar coating on the deck you can change and some don't and you have to change the entire platform that has a black melamine coating on it. If this is a relatively new unit then the deck and belt may be fine and it may in fact be a component like the motor , motor controller or even the choke. All parts involved in any of these scenario's are pricey so you may want to have a tech come out and do a diagnostic on it. Amp Draw etc. Good luck

You have to check whether the Motor runs before its shows the Error E#. If so you have to check the speed sensor. Can be it displaced or faulty. You will find the speed sensor near the motor pulley.

I have recently installed treadmill motor brushes but now treadmill is not calibrating, calibration takes start and when calibration comes to check the slow speed it stuck there and keep calibrating it

Hi There, Please check that you have the small feedback connectors snug and proper. Some treads have them on a front or rear roller and some also have a motor feedback. Or - Try to power down and back up and try to run treadmill normally, not in cal mode, and see if the unit responds to your speed selections correctly. During "calibrations" the upper board (usually) is looking for a specific feedback signal, if it cannot be found it usually stops the tread, but in cal mode it may sit there waiting for it's feedback sweet-spot before continuing. What make, year and model of tread?

I have a Proform xp 615 that will work fine for about a minute and belt will stop. As soon as I step off of the belt it will run back up to speed, but will not have any power/ torque.

Hi There, This could be caused by a few things....
First, is the belt/deck lubricated and slide easily with the foot when the treadmill is off? Next, , have you noticed any odd smell like burning "something", if so, this would lead to a motor issue, which can be checked with the tread UNPLUGGED from the wall, look inside the motor brush covers, one on each side, to check the copper colored commutator for dark burned area's, and lastly, motor control boards die over time due to the work on the capacitors when the treads are in use. Unfortunately, manufacturer's decide to cut costs on capacity for overall performance which leads to issues, and you can always email gregATbuyfitnessrepairpartsDOTcom for additional help, as nobody likes a dead-tread ;o)

My matrix MX-T5x start running and stop in seconds. With the error code E7. What is the problem ?

Hi,
By E7 it means Speed sensor feedback missing. You have to check the speed sensor mounted near the motor pully. Remove the speed sensor and clean it well Then refix it then check the tread mill by powering ON. If then also the problem remains the same , You have to replace the speed sensor.
ok

I have a NordicTrack c2200. I find that the tread belt is not running smoothly while running on it. As I run, the belt temporarily stops during each running step, causing me to trip up. I tried to lube,...

There are a couple possibilities.
Remove the motor cover and run the machine.
Check the tension of the motor belt. It may need to be tightened. 2manyhobbies.jpg
Check that the pulley has not broken free from the front roller by stopping the walking belt when the machine is running. If the belt stops, but the motor and pulley keep turning, the pulley has broken free from the front roller.
If this is the case, with a drill and small drill bit, drill a hole through the pulley and roller on the inside edge of the pulley, between the ribs (not where the motor belt travels) and put a screw through the plastic into the metal roller.
Otherwise, change the roller.
Good Luck.

I have a proform treadmill that slips as soon as i step on track i looked at the belt it looks good how do i tighten up the track

There should be adjustment screws on the back left and right sides. The screws will be horizontal with the tread, and probably need an allen wrench to tighten. If the tread runs straight, tighten each side 1/4 turn at a time to keep them even. Check the tread after each adjustment, and stop as soon as the tread quits slipping.

Hi ddmyatt.. They sell what is call dry lube at sports store's. for spraying under the tread's and on the wheels that the tread run's on.. Lift the tread and spray as far under it as you can on both side's. She'll be lot's quieter then before and lots easier on the motor too..
