I have a Mitsubishi ws-65809, the tv won't power

I presume you unplugged the set and redid the check:

2,3 is deflection circuit problem (probably in Horizontal sweep circuit) and can be almost anything---check output transistors and look for cracked or bad cap in that area.

The error code is only a general indication of the kind of problem and this one is like saying car will not start etc.

I have a Mitsubishi ws-65809 when i turn it on it shuts down after 2 seconds, i held the input and menu buttons in and it gave me cod 2-3 was wondering what could be the problem, and if it is an easy fix...

Error code 23 means "Loss of Horizontal Deflection" that means horizontal section of TV is not working. Cause can be horizontal out transistor is short or not getting +B volts from power supply.
If you understand schematic, I can email you complete repair manual of Mitsubishi WS-65809 that will help you to diagnose problem by measuring volts and checking parts.
Thanks.

Ws-65809 error code 23

Your symptom of the code 23 sounds like a problem in the Horizontal circuits of your television.

Troubleshooting this circuit is very tricky as there are a good many components that control the Horizontal circuit. It could be as easy as a shorter Horizontal Output Transistor, (I highly doubt it). Most likely you have lost the horizontal pulse or you may have an open horizontal drive transistor.

I would suggest that you contact a service center in your area for a complete diagnosis and repair, as this type of repair can get a little tricky. But if you want to repair the set yourself, just remember to be careful. The capacitors and CRT’s can hold a charge and may shock you.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

I have a Mitsubishi CS-3125R that displays a horizontal line with sound. I suspect the horizontal transistor is out and cannot find one. Any ideas?

You are misleading yourself. When you have a horizontal line across the screen it means that the vertical circuit is not working. You see, the vertical circuit moves the beam up and down which is not happening. The horizontal circuit moves the beam left and right and it is working. Your set probably needs a new vertical output IC and some electrolytic capacitors that work with it. The caps dry up with time and harm the output IC.

The error codes...

a 2 3 code means horizontal deflection has stopped thats what is most likely shutting down your set. The most probable cause for this would be a defective Horizontal output transistor.
