When it blows cold air, there should be an error code blinking on the LED light located on the PC board. Look through a small viewing port in the front panel, then remove the front panel and on the reverse side there should be a diagnostic code chart to help you figure what is wrong.

My electric furnace constantly runs.. no cold or hot air blowing through the vents.. red LED light blinks 4 times saying limit switch open.. how do I fix the problem?

You'll need to replace the fan limit switch. This little switch is what tells your blower when to kick on and when to shut off. It's stuck open.

Please have this checked out by a technician. If there is a crack in the heat exchanger it could do just as you described. The blower blows air into the combustion chamber and blows out the burners.

My furnace heats the house well, but during the cool down it actually blows cold air dropping the temperature causing the furnace to re-ignite. How do I adjust? Goodman - GMS9/GCS9

Depending on the age of the furnace you may be able to adjust the cool down. On some furnaces there is a silver box usually made by honeywell. This is your fan limit control. If you take the cover off you will see a dial with different temperature settings with 3 pins in a grove. The first one is fan on with temperature rise this turns the blower on when the furnace starts and warms up. The second is the fan off after furnace shuts down, this would be the one you want to adjust to a higher temperature to keep the blower from blowing cold air. The last pin is the high limit if the furnace gets to this temperature it will shut the furnace off but keep the blower running. Make sure that the thermostat fan option is set to auto and not on.

The floor vents in our house are blowing cold air instead of hot. What can we do to fix it? What would be causing this?

If the furnace is running and the registers are blowing cold air you have a problem with the furnace. Check to be sure the pilot lite is lite if this is a standing pilot, if not check to see if there is a flash code in the site hole in the bottom blower door of the furnace. Be sure the thermostat is set to heat and turned up.

It sounds like you have a blend air door stuck. This is in the housing of the heater a/c blower unit under the passenger side of the dash. There is a motor on the top of the housing that could possibly be stuck or on working.
