Usb 2.0 charging port doesnt work

The power connectors that are feeding the USB from the inside seem to be ok. The data connections of the USB are bad. Maybe with some very careful professional soldering of the data connectors on the inside of the USB, your problem would be resolved.

I have connected my nanomax ipod to the computer and it is not charging.how should i charge it?

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time you are viewing this solution post. Thank you for choosing FixYa to solve your problem. So you have connected your Nanomax iPod to the computer and it's not charging like it's supposed to, and you want to know how you should charge it properly? There are two ways you can charge the battery - charging via your Dock Connector to USB Cable, or the Apple USB Power Adapter (which is sold separately). Here are the step by step instructions to charging your and Nanomax.

Using the Dock Connector to USB Cable
  1. Using your Dock Connector to USB Cable, plug the dock connector end to your iPod and plug the USB end to your computer. Make sure the computer you are using has a USB 2.0 port (check your computer's technical specifications to see if it's USB 2.0 certified). Most USB ports on the keyboards of laptops do not provide enough power to perform charging activities. If you have a Docking Station, plug the docking connector into the station and placed the iPod in the station as well.
  2. Make sure your computer is fully awake and not asleep (meaning in sleep mode).
  3. A fully charged battery takes 3 hours to complete. An 80% charged battery takes an hour and 30 minutes. The battery is charging when it shows the charging icon (a battery not fully shaded in green, with a lightning bolt). The battery is done charging when the "fully charged" icon shows (a green-shaded battery with a 2-prong plug showing).
  4. When you are done, disconnect the cable from your computer.
Using the Apple USB Power Adapter
  1. Connect the Alternating Current (AC) Plug Adapter with the power adapter (if connected already, skip this step).
  2. Using your Dock Connector to USB Cable, connect the dock connector end to your iPod and the USB end to the power adapter.
  3. Plug the power adapter into a polarized wall outlet or surge protector outlet.
I think you connected everything correctly, but the USB port on your computer did not have enough power to charge your battery. If that's the case, you will have to find a computer that has a USB 2.0 port on it (like a desktop PC or MAC, or a car adapter charging device) and connect to it, or use the USB Power Adapter (sold seperately). I think this pretty much answers your question. I hope this benefits you the best way possible. Once again, thank you for choosing Fixya as your one-stop solution spot for your problems. Have a good day, evening or night; whatever time you are viewing this, and visit us again the next you need assistance troubleshooting.

Check that batteries are charged and installed properly.--make sure driver disc is installed if applicable- check instructions as some wireless suites need you to push a small connect button to initialise them . Also try shifting the usb conector into another USB port if it is notm getting reconised.

I hope this helps

My acer mouse model number mg-0919 stops working after about 2 minutes. I have to turn the mouse off then back on. This happens constantly. What is going on? Is it defective? My mouse is under...

I had the same problem. This mouse came with my Acer Revo which was still under warranty. Tech support basically says to check the obvious (batteries, USB connection, RF interference). Their obviously canned answer goes on to detail a manual reconnect procedure that does not apply to this model. And when all else fails, get a new mouse.
This is what Acer tech support emailed me:
If you are experiencing issues with your wireless mouse not working properly, perform the following steps to troubleshoot the wireless mouse.

1) Ensure that the receiver is 8-inches from other electrical devices. Avoid placing the cordless devices on metallic surfaces.

2) Verify that the USB connector from the receiver is properly plugged into a USB port on the computer. Try plugging the receiver into a different USB port to ensure that the USB port is working properly.

3) Remove the batteries and then reinsert the batteries into the mouse, making sure that the battery polarities are correct.

4) Test the batteries to ensure that they still have a charge.

5) Try the manual connect procedure.

Manual connect procedure:

1) Press and release the Connect button on the receiver.

2) Within 30 seconds, press and release the Connect button on the mouse.

If the issue persists, we can replace your computer's wireless mouse.

We will ship the new wireless mouse within 3-5 business days.

Before placing an order for wireless mouse we would like to confirm the following.

1) Complete shipping address:

2) email address:

3) phone number:

In order to place an order for wireless mouse, the computer must be registered.

How connect a wireless mouse

Typically a wireless mouse will have 2 parts to it: the mouse and a receiver unit. The receiver unit will plug into your PC with a USB cable. On your mouse there's usually a connect button (or called something else that's usually intuitive), and sometimes on the receiver unit as well.

Plug your receiver unit into your PC using the USB connector.
Make sure you have a good battery in the mouse. Press the connect button on the mouse and you should be good to go.

If this helps please give me the appropriate thumbs up rating. Thanks and good luck!

The curser on my pc is not moving it is in the middle of the screan and just stays there. I have rebooted but to no avail any ideas?

First make sure the system is not busy/hang. Check the mouse connector cable, whether its connected properly. If you are using a wireless mouse, check the batteries in the mouse or try connecting by pressing connect button on both the mouse and trans-receiver. If you are using a usb mouse, plug it in to another usb port and see whether its working or not. Try swapping your mouse and one of your friends and check where the problem lies. If your motherboard ps2 port is faulty, buy a usb mouse. All the best.
