I have an Inglis front load washer. Model # ifw7200tw. The door won't close. It seems that the door lever won't catch the door lock.......I also have a problem with the door hinges. The door has dropped about an half an inch. There is play in the door but the screws in the hinges are tight. Thank You Sheldon

SOURCE: Admiral electric range with self cleaning oven

Hey there gcato1, your problem is actually a protective feature designed to prevent you from getting burned. The self cleaning feature runs at extremely hot temps. Until the temperature reaches a safe level, the oven door will remain latched. Be patient and the problem will solve itself.

SOURCE: our fridge door won't close properly

The door hinges have nylon bushings/washers to help them work smoothly. If the unit is very old and had a lot of use (like a large family) the bushings or washers could be just worn away. This also is indicated if the doors seem to be misaligned. If the doors don't seem out of place, it could just be that the unit is not sitting on a level surface, causing the box to twist and the doors th therefore bind.
Other possibilities: The door is burdened heavily with the milk, juices, food, etc. and therefore is just plain heavy. You have a "water-thru-the-door" unit and some leak has occurred to fill the door and it's insulation with water. (eww!)
Check to see that the surface is level, and that the door fits correctly. Make replacements or adjustments as necessary. Lighten the load on the door, or fix the leak.

If you find my suggestions to be helpful, please share with us some details so that others may benefit from knowing the whole story. Thank you!

SOURCE: washer door opens with hinges on the left

nope sorry but all front load washers are built with a locking system on the door and that makes them impossible to change the door swing.
the only thing you can do is move the washer and dryer position by getting longer hoses and venting so you can have the washer on the left and the dryer on the right.

Affinity frigidare front load washer won't start. It beeps with message flashing (DR)

Hello zabbster - Typically the DR or DO error code indicates that the door switch is not closed. Make sure that the door lock is completely closed. If the door is closed, make sure the door latch is not broken. If the latch is broken, you may possibly need to replace the door lock switch.

Kenmore front load washer door won't latch lock light on

On some Kenmore front load models, if the black gasket around the door opening is unseated (for example, because you drag some heavy wet laundry over it) the door will not engage the lock and stay closed. This is a feature to prevent the washer from leaking when the gasket is not sealed. To fix it, simply reseat the gasket and the door will close and lock.
