Question about Nikon COOLPIX L20 Digital Camera

1 Answer

I have the Nikon Coolpix L20. Every time I delete a picture from reviewing it it freezes on the screen "please wait". Ive waited as long as 5 minutes before. I have to constantly take out my batteries and put them back in in order to get the camera working again. Even if I try and delete a picture it does the same thing over and over. I put in new batteries so I know its not that. How do i fix this?

Try reformatting the memory device for the camera - there should be an option in the menus for format. This will remove all pictures and reinitialize the memory.

SOURCE: My Nikon Coolpix L20 will only delete one picture,

Hi,

This might be a file error on the memory card.
This happens sometimes.
Save what you can from the card then format it in the camera a few times.

Hope this helps.

It was deleted long time ago

If what you are trying to say is that you deleted your pictures from your camera's memory and you now wish to recover them, you are out of luck. Once you erase the memory, it is gone forever.

I think you would be better off using a card reader and downloading to a folder that you create on your desktop. That way, you know exactly where they are.

I have a coolpix l20...and when i try to download my pics to my comp it is freezing on a picture and i cant download anything after it....ive tried saving them individually, but it says my device isnt...

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.
