  1. While Wireless G is significantly faster than its predecessors: "A" and "B, they are still not as fast as Wireless "N", however. Wireless "G" runs slower (wirelessly) than it does when connected to a wire (like a destop).
  2. Also, the size, of a mini, presents an issue in that the processing speed is half, if not less, than that of a Desk or laptop manufactured at about the same time.
  3. A remedy for this may be to plug your mini, directly into your modem or router; much the same as you would a desktop; especially, when you expect to use it for extended periods of time.
  4. Another option is to purchase a "High Speed" Wireless "N"router which will work with a Wireless "G" adapter in, or attached, to your computer. But you cannot expect your mini to run at speeds, advertised by the router maker, unless you buy a Wireless "N" Adapter for your mini.
  5. A Wireless "N" router is backward compatible (works with "G", "B", and "A"), in that you won't need to buy a Wireless "N" Adapter for every wireless computer/laptop/or mini, all at the same time. Just one for the mini, at the moment, and others as you add another wireless laptop, in future.
To sum it up: Plug your Mini directly into the router, or directly, into your modem or purchase a Wireless "N" Router and Adapter.

Here's a PC-World Magazine article on the subject.

I am connected to the internet but it says " page cannot be displayed "

Try disconnecting and re-connecting again,if same error happens, maybe your connection is too slow that it timed out before a successful connection is established.

Netbook will not connect to wifi

Maybe you hadn't fully set it up.

Try checking the following to see if any of these steps were missed.

On a "hooked up" computer, Google "digital gadgets.com". There find "Sylvania Products". Then click on "7 inch netbook support" and follow directions inputing to the 7" netbook as you go.

For item # 4, you find your "hot spot" name (on the 7" netbook) and click "connect".

For item # 5, you may have to call your Internet Service Provider (Charter, AT&T or whoever you pay for your internet) in order to get your "network keys" fill that in (on the 7" netbook) and then click "OK".

Next (on the 7" netbook) be sure you go to "Start", "Settings", "Control Panel", "Internet Options", "General" and complete "user agent (requires browser restart" by selecting:
"Default (same as windows XP)" or
"Same As Pocket PC" or
"Windows CE".

I selected "default" and was off and running.

Although this isn't a "lap-top" it is a really neat little machine and does a lot of stuff almost like one. It should be great for travel! It is a little slow and has small memory, but it's inexpensive and usb/sd ports are there. A regular universal mouse helps-just plug it into a USB port. I'm doing internet, movies, YouTube, word processing, etc like everything and I think a lot of people have way under-rated this fun little machine!

I just purchased the sylvania synet07526 7" netbook and this thing is sssooooooo slow. Is there anyway to speed it up, or download xp from the internet? Please help.

This notebook can be considered a toy, as it will not do much than connect to the internet with a limited view. It is slow compared to a modern desktop or a laptop as the processor is limited. The fact that it connects at all is a miracle. There is no known way that this device can be sped up as you cannot add to the machine.I would suggest that you go to digitalgadgets site and down load the update to the Wifi at http://www.digitalgadgets.com/netbooks/update.html.

The update works much better.

My netbook runs slow and freezes

There are many reasons for slowness and freezing. Computer specs (ram, processor speed, connection speed)) could be not enough for today's internet.

Internet cache, temporary internet files, temporary files should be cleared.

Try defragmenting the hard drive.

And try downloading a program like CCleaner from Piriform.

My asus netbook plays slow jerky videos when I watch them directly from the net. Anyone have a solution? Is this problem unique to asus or all netbooks? Thanks.

Hello

OK, you need to have a look at the buffer speed of the videos you are watching directly of the web.

It is actually all about the speed of the internet connection. A faster connection allows for the video to buffer faster than it actually takes to watch it, understand?

Thus, if you have a slow internet connection, the real time of the video will be faster than the video can be bufferred, so there will be pauses whle watching.

Thus, best advice without spending money, is to keep your flash player updated and let the videos buffer for a minute or 2 and then click play.

Kind regrds
