The A/C heater switch on my 03 impala works intermittently-about one time in three the fan won't come on when the swich is turned on.Between a few seconds and up to 5 minutes later the fan starts to run and then of course the A/C will work.

Hi,Sounds like bearing went out, check estimator link for estimate and do not know your mechanical abilities to see if you can fix.

Also sounds like your alternator is going out. A car's electrical needs are filled with the generator. The only thing the battery is used for is to start the car. After that, you can literally remove the battery and the car will still run properly. If the alternator goes bad, the car will then revert to running off the battery. After it starts to drain down, electrical things will stop working. You can jump the car and restart it if it dies, but it won't last very long until it dies again. Run, don't walk to the shop and have them test the alternator. I am betting you will find it is bad. One more thing. Sometimes, if the alternator goes bad, the extra drain on the battery will cause it to fail also. If that happens, don't blame the repair shop. It just happens. The opposite (battery going bad, alternator fails) can also be true.

Take care..

Heater fan not operating

Most of the time when a heater blower quits working it is the blower switch that fails rather than the motor. Blower switch can be accessed in the dash panel.

2000 impala, heater fan intermittent. When fan is not working also have no cruise or rear defrost.

Could be a relay switch, check the fuse area and look for a larger square looking fuse or have it checked but get used one at wrecking yard,,real cheep there. Relays are fairly expensive new. About $20 bucks each. I've bought some at wreckers for just a few dollars. Easy to install, like a fuse.
Hope this helps.

Goodman GDT070 furnace pressure swich problem.

Inspect both the intake and exhaust pipes for blockage or debris. Inspect the small tubes that go from your combustion fan to the pressure switch and the tube that goes from the fan to the condensate drain. They all should be clean and dry. Inspect the combustion fan to see if it spins without it scraping on the housing or it may be filled with water or debris. Last, check the air filter and clean or replace.

Can't use Wall Switch to turn on light

The problem may not be with the fan, but with the wall switch. Try changing the wall switch and see if that works, sometimes they go bad.

Fan for heater

Could be a fuse. If not it could be the blower motor or the resistor. First try hitting the blower motor passenger side underdash. Some times they stick. If this works replace the blower motor if not check for power at the blower motor if no power replace resistor if you have power replace the motor.
