Question about HP Photosmart D5069 InkJet Printer

Hp D5069. Stays there is paper jam, but there actually IS NO paper jam. Won't print, won't clear the one document in que.

    this did not work.
    there is still the one document in the Que, even though I canceled it, it remains.
    The page for "devices and printers" has the printer listed and still there is a "!" sign over it.
    click on that printer and it says "paper jam" .

    I hosed it with Dust Off, no change after turning off and back on again.

Hi Pacificpelle,

i would suggest you to open up the hatch area where the paper is inserted and check whether there are any dust on the sensor, if there is dust clean it so that the sensor can tell whether anything is there. check also whether there is any hair or any unknown matter near the sensor or inside the hatch of where the paper is stored.

    i would also suggest for you to download a fresh software for the printer from www.hp.com and install it after removing the original software you have already installed, if you have that is.

    also, shut off your printer then restart your computer, then turn on your printer. if the problem still persists, the i suggest you to download the HP printer Software from HP website and try printing your documentation using the appropriate software.

Printer won't print after clearing a paper jam


I use to have an HP All-In-One Laser Jet printer that, for reasons unknown to me, wouldn't print after clearing a paper jam until I replaced the ink cartridge.

My printer says it has a paper jam, even though the paper jam has been cleared. It won't print. Any ideas?


Hi, Try pulling out the plug for 1 hour and then try again. Pulling the plug may reset the printer.

My hp deskjet says there is a paper jam when there is none and will not print


If your printer for any reason reports a paper jam, withput going through the "clearing paper jam" procedure it may not respond to print command. So follow the procedure below:-

Clearing paper jam in a printer is simple almost seven step procedure depending on the printer. Paper jam is the term used to refer to the scenario where your paper fails to come out of the printer during the print process. When you send a document to the printer, normally the printer prints out the document on a paper; then you can pick up your printed copy. When the paper gets stuck in the printer, it is said that paper has jammed in the printer "paper jam".

Even if you are not a technical person, you can conveniently clear paper jams. All you need is to follow the set of procedures outlined below.

This particular model is prone to these types of errors. First clear all paper paths to be sure it is free of jams. (even the smallest bits of paper) Pull the toner and reset it, and reboot the printer. If you till have the same issues check if it is under warranty, call HP and get a refurbished replacement. If it is out of warranty it may not be worth the cost of the repair. I support like 30 of these and I have seen many with this issue.

Can't get paper jam out of computer


Here is the HP website for your Photosmart D5069 printer. Here is what they recommend:

IssuePaper is jammed in the product. SolutionFollow these steps to clear the paper jam from the product. Step one: Remove any loose paper Remove all loose paper from the input tray and output tray. CAUTION: Do not remove jammed paper at this stage. Step two: Clear the jam from the back of the printer
  1. Press the power button (c01628209.gif ) to turn off the product, and then unplug it.
  2. Remove the rear access door. Figure 1: Removing the rear access doorc00439062.gif
  3. Gently remove the jammed paper from the product.
  4. Replace the rear access door.
  5. Plug in the product, and then press the power button (c01628209.gif ) to turn it on.
  6. Try the print job again.
  • If the print job prints successfully, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.
Step three: Make sure that the carriage moves freely
  1. With the product turned on, open the cartridge access door. The carriage might try to move into the access area. Allow it to move to that position.
  2. Without turning off the product, disconnect the power cord from the back of the product. WARNING: In the following steps, you move the parts by hand. If the power plug is not unplugged, there is a risk of an electrical shock.
  3. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Look in through the cartridge access door or the output paper tray to make sure that the cartridges are secure in the carriage and have not come loose.
  5. Check for any obstructions under or around the carriage that prevent it from moving.
  6. Make sure that the carriage can move freely across the width of the product by firmly pushing the carriage to the left and then to the right. Clear any obstructions.
    NOTE: You might have to reach through the output paper tray to access the carriage.
  7. Close the cartridge access door.
  8. Reconnect the power cord to the back of the product.
  9. Reconnect the power cord to the wall outlet.
  10. Press the power button (c01628209.gif ) to turn on the product.
  11. Try the print job again.
  • If the print job prints successfully, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue is not resolved, proceed to the next step.
Step four: Service the printer If you have completed all the steps listed above and are still experiencing a problem, service the product.

I'm using Windows Vista and an HP 5180 All-in-One Series. Documents go into the print que, but never print. What's wrong?

I can't clear the print qeue of my HP 1350 all in one and a document is "stuck". Won't print and wont go away.


I assume you have gone to the 'printer' screen, high-lighted the document and then clicked on delete document. This takes forever - don't know why - but it does. Eventually the document will disappear. If you don't have the patience then reboot your computer.

clear the paper jam. take out the paper(if any) from back of the printer. Clear all prints in que and try to print
