How should i get rid of the black line that comes out on every sheet during printing? I am using a ricoh aficio spc232sf

Unfortunately, no, the printer won't print even in color if the black toner is empty. The black drum rotates whether the copier is printing in black & white or color, so if black is empty you can't print at all.

Hi, thin black lines are most likely (but not definitely) caused by something in the black PCU (photoconductor unit), either the drum or the charger. Replacing the black PCU will likely get rid of your lines. The Ricoh code for a black PCU if you don't already have one is 402448.

Hi, unfortunately you can't make any copies or prints when the machine is out of black toner. If you still have the toner bottle, you could try gently shaking it and reloading it to see if the machine can squeeze just enough toner out to keep you up in the meantime.

Couple possibilities:
Fuser hot belt has wear lines transfering to the page
Black pcu needs to be replaced
Transfer unit is not being cleaned properly and needs to be replaced.
Remove each of these assy and inspect them for wear or lines that corespond to the lines on your prints.

If the marks are along the same line and look like dots the black photoconductor needs to be repalced.
