HI I have just bought a car with a Sony CDX-GT310 CD player, when the engine is on I save all of the radio stations I want in the memory, however after the engine goes off and switched back on again the stations saved in the memory have all gone? Can this be stopped?

There is a yellow wire on the wire harness on the back of the deck that needs to go to a power source that is hot when the key is off.

Could be a bad connection in between radio and antenna . Check that first . If that doesn't work try a film strip antenna

I would advise buying the aftermarket wiring harness female/male so you can just plug it in.

Sony CDX-GT310 CD

Hi,

The yellow wire must be directly connected to an always ON B+12 such as the + terminal of the battery. This wire is responsible for providing power to the memory.

Hope that this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Sony CDX-GT310. Installed by Circuit City about 15 months ago. CD works fine. No sound from radio (both AM & FM). I've manually tuned through the range of stations with no reception. Checked...

Called a shop in VA and their opinion was that the tuner section of the unit failed. Cost of the part, $80. Then, labor and shipping. I can buy the new model (GT320) for about $95. I opted for buying a new unit.
