Disconnect the power cord / remove battery and hold down the power button. Most hardware, it works.
Although I would suggest not doing a hard reset and resolving the issue that you are facing through other methods.. maybe calling the suport line, especially if your machine is new. A hard reset removes the data stored on the ROM chip and replaces it with default values
So that should fix the problem. hope that helps
