Error: Unable to connect to the synaptics pointing device driver

What you need to do is go to device manager by clicking on start and control panel and find the device manager. You can also type devmgmr.msc and hit enter. Then you can see the pointer devices. You can then delete them and the right one will come back when you restart the computer you can then go back to the device manager and disable it there.

Why did my touchpad mouse disable?

Either the hardware itself has failed or perhaps the driver has become corrupted. Go into the device manager, locate the trackpad driver and delete it. Exit the device manager and reboot. The device driver should be reloaded (trackpad seen as a new device), you may need your Windows CD but then again sometimes you don't.

The scroll bar in my laptops' touch pad isn't working.

The scroll on your laptop is controlled by the trackpad installed on the system.

If you are having problems with the scroll on your laptop's trackpad, there is something you can do before you take it into a computer repair shop.

Updating the driver to the trackpad will enable the scroll if it is not working at all.

Once the driver is updated, your scroll should work again.

You can access the driver through the Device Manager on your laptop.

Click the "Start" button, then click the "Search" option.

Type "Device Manager" into the search bar and press the "Enter" button.

Click on the "Device Manager" icon from the menu, then scroll down to the "Track Pad" icon on the left side of the screen.

Click on the icon, then click the "Driver" tab at the top of the window. Click the "Update" driver option from the window.

Wait for the new driver to install on your computer.

This should take about two minutes to complete.

A window will appear telling you that the driver has been installed.

Put your fingers on the touchpad to move the mouse around on the screen.

Hope this helps.

Maybe go to the device manager in control panel and click on Device Manager look for the HID Compliant mouse or touch pad and un-install the driver completely after that restart your computer as soon as it boots up it will find new hardware and take you through the setup process most computers does this for you after it says installation complete try the touch pad if nothing happens try pressing the Fn keeping it down press the F7 button then release them both if still nothing happens then it will be your motherboard as it will required going back to them under their warranty to be fixed.

I can not use my mouse pad to click or scroll please advice me.my hp laptop pavilion dv6

Make sure the trackpad isn't disabled. HP laptops have either a button with an orange light illuminated when disabled or a light in the touchpad itself. Click the button, and it will turn white, indicating it is enabled. If it has a light in the touchpad, double tap the light and it will re-enable the touchpad.

When i use my touch pad on my dell laptop, the pointer gets out of control

try reinstalling the drivers. Also, you may want to test an external mouse and see if it behaves the same. If you dont have problems with the external mouse, have reinstalled the touchpad drivers and still the mouse acts erraticaly, then go to the Control Panel, select System, then go to the Hardware Tab and click the Device Manager button (steps for XP system, if Vista or Win7 look for Hardware manager of some kind). Then, from the list of hardware components scroll down to the Mouse and Pointers section, hit the + icon, and erase the trackpad (select it and hit Delete on the keyboard). Restart the computer, and Windows should reinstall the drivers without any intervention on your part. If this doesnt help, you may be dealing with a broken touchpad or a BIOS issue.

My touchpad has stopped working. Device Manager

you can enable and disable the touchpads Touchpad: - to enable or disable a touch pad/pointing device from the Start Menu > control panel > Change to classic view - {on left hand menu} click on the mouse icon Mouse Properties dialog box, click "Device Settings tab" select the device click to Enable or Disable OR You may need to enable in the bios/setup menu - as the PC boots - you should get a message on how to get into the bios/setup - usually using F2 or DEL Key or F10 see if touch pad needs to be enabled there OR
one of the F keys may disable/enable - depends on the model of the Laptop - toshiba sometime use FN+F9 key

Touch pad stopped working

I recommend you to uninstall and reinstall touchpad drivers to isolate the issue.
Press Windows key and R. Type devmgmt.msc in Run window and click on OK. Click on "+" sign beside Mice and other pointing devices in Device Manager.
Right click on Touchpad and select Uninstall.
You will be prompted to restart the computer.
Windows detects touchpad and the touchpad drivers will be reinstalled automatically.
You can also install touchpad drivers from your notebook support website.
You can reinstall the drivers from the below links:
http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5920.html
http://www.laptops-drivers.com/acer-notebooks/download-drivers-acer-aspire-5920-notebooks.html
However I suggest you to install the drivers by visiting the acer support website.
Also perform windows update.
