I see it is a 9" edger. We are going to need more info on the engine, so we can go to the manufacturer's site and reference the carb. You may just need a rebuild kit for the carb. We have to determine what carb is on the unit. If it has Briggs engine, post all info listed on the plate. Look around (if still there) and see. Repost and we will try to help. The Sears site only has chassis parts, nothing for the engine.

Moter will only run with chock on

This usually indicates that the engine is not getting sufficient fuel. Replace fuel filter. The carburetor may be dirty. Add 1/3 - 1/2 can of carburetor/ fuel line cleaner to the gas tank. Inspect the spark plug. If this does not help, please provide specific info on the mower, brand , model #, serial #, engine # ., which is usually on the engine shroud....

You need to have the carburetor cleaned out carefully. Do not lose any parts and put them all back the same way.

How do i get to the fuel filter on an old sears blower model 358 797920,32cc

Sounds more like the carburetor needs to be cleaned or replaced. Dirt in carburetor will cause this problem.

Sounds like you will need to clean your carburetor.
Be sure to use compressed air to blow out all the fuel and air passages.
After cleaning and before you reassemble the carb, be sure to "set" your float level, turn the carb upside down and make sure the float is LEVEL and not tilting up or down
Sometimes you can get by with priming the carburetor a few times, and letting it run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets, but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
If the mower/weedeater is over a couple years old, then I also recommend that you buy and install a new carburetor repair kit, because the diaphragm will get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, You will first seat the jet screws and count the number of turns it takes to seat the jets from their original position.
That way when you go to put the jets back in, you know how many turns they were in/out.
