Hi stargazer50,

Remove one memory module one-at-time. Once you find the culprit, replace it with a good one or work with less memory.

Hope this helps and good luck.

My cpu overheated and now my video, keyboard, mouse, and usbs wont work! Whats wrong with it. Do i need a new fan?

Why did it overheat? In cases where a CPU has overheated, it more likely you will need a new CPU. If you can get one. Does the fan run? Is there dust in or around the heatsink? Have you booted the PC? If so, does it start to boot? Does the operating system load up? Anything displayed on the screen? Any errors on bootup? Rgds, Dave.

Cpu fan works, power supply fan works why wont' computer come on?

Could be a number of reasons:
The CPu fan and the PSU fans will come on, even though the system is not working. There is a possibility that the CPU has blown, you can check this easily by (carefully) feeling the heatsink after it has been running a while. A dead CPU will not use power and therefore not heat up. If after say 10 minutes of running, the heatsink is clay cold, suspect the CPU. Replace with another one, spreading CPU grease on the top before putting the heatsink back on.

A blown CPU will usually be indicated bu there being NO beeps from the system (see below)

If the CPU appears to be generating heat, visually inspect the board, look for blown or blowing capacitors (the small cylinder like components) on the motherboard, any that are bulging or leaking a brown residue, or have blown, will render the motherboard inoperative.

If these appear ok (they still may be damaged), unplug all components except the hard drive, and ram and video card, see if the system then boots. If it does, proceed to re-installation of each in turn, until the faulty peripheral halts the boot.

Listen for any beeps as the ssytem switches on these beeps describe the type of problem
(repost if you hear any beeps)

Remove one stick of ram and try rebooting, if it works, suspect the ram module, try the other and see if that makes any difference.

Failing that, your last recourse is to power the system off, remove the bios battery, replace after 2 minutes and see if clearing the Cmos "unsticks" the computer.

After That, suspect the motherboard is dead.

(1)cpu fan error (2)chassis intruded (3)fatal error.....system halted

The reason for this error is Overheat! Please replace the CPU Fan with a new one and add additional Fan for the CPU Cabinet in order to cool the CPU. Then, reset the BIOS to default value by pressing the F2 Key or Delete Key at the Startup and select Load Optmized Defaults or Load Fail Safe Defaults option. This should resolve the issue.

I HAVE ASUS P5KPL-AM IN MOTHER BOARD MY SYSTEM IS ON BUT I DONT FIND DISPLAY IN MONITOR. MY RAM IS OK, MY PROCESSOR IS OK BUT I DONT FIND DISPLAY ON MY MONITOR .

if you have your monitor light flashing or the cpu fan is working when you on the system try this,

you just need to load the BIOS to its defaults, to do this you need to open the CPU case, unscrew the two screws on the left side of your cabinet, on the motherboard you can see a small button sized battery, remove it and after one minute replace it into its position.

close the cabinet and start the computer it'll work fine....

When I connect 2nd and 3rd hard disk my system wont starts......

Just because it has a CPU, it is not a brain
It is ok to set up 2 or 3 harddrives BUT... make sure one is a master, (C:)the others are slaves D-Z
Look at all drives, most now have jumpers and they are master, slave, cselect.
To make it easy, slaves/masters
