Question about Sharp Office Equipment & Supplies
to solve this problem perform the following procedure:-It is not H A It is h4.It is power error code. When your copier heater lamp is not on then show it.
This error indicates a problem with the fuser on the machine. You will need to replace the fuser unit and reset the code. The fuser is fairly simple to get out, you will need to remove the back cover and the jam access door on the right side of the machine. At that point, the fuser is simply held in with three screws and a connector.
To reset the code you have to go into service mode by pressing this sequence of keys ("C" -> "Exposure" -> "C" -> "Exposure"). You will need to press them fairly quickly, about a second between each press, and confidently. You will know you are in service mode because the display will change to "--" and flash. At this point, enter "14" as though you were making 14 copies, and press the green start button, then press the "CA" key to exit service mode. The machine will begin restarting itself and if the problem is resolved it will come to ready.
These machines were notorious for giving H4 errors randomly and without a real reason, so I would suggest that you try resetting the code one time before calling it in for service. If the code comes back after you reset it once, or comes back on a fairly regular basis (meaning more often than once a month), I highly recommend calling a professional repair technician in for service.

Normally to clear the H4 error we replaced the fuser lamp, and you would also need to check the thermistor and rectifier. That was a few years ago though, and I mention this as I know it was already becoming difficult to find parts for the copier. I do not have the service manual for this copier anymore, but if you do, you will see that the thermistor and rectifier are part of the fuser control board.

The H and 4 error is a Fuser related issue. The fuser is the heated roller than seals the toner onto the paper.Unfortunately, the the only way to check it by looking at it visually or putting your hands close it by.However, be advised you might hurt yourself you are not experienced enough to work on these printers. However, as a matter of fact H4 is more often related with the Fuser. As resetting doesn't help the cause, as it came back, replacement is the only option left.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

The cooling fan goes bad and generates false signals. Replace the fan if everything else checks good. It may also cause intermittent power failures
"machine goes dead".
Either the fuser did not heat up in time. If you hold down the copy button it will give you a 2 digit sub code (01, 02, etc). Check your lamp to see if they are coming on.
Hope helps, good luck.
