Question about Washing Machines

2 Answers

My top-load Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine makes a rattling noise each time the water is being spun out of the machine. The noise is coming from the right rear corner. (I can picture a lego guy tumbling around...) It is a WTW6340WW0. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Possibility of some change ( even one penny) that may have made its way into the water pump. Get this checked quickly otherwise if this is the case, the pump will crack and start leaking. A check is cheaper than a fix. My pump cost $100 but luckily was still under warranty

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

The noise could be coming from a 'not-tightened-down-properly' right rear foot.
I mostly answer front load problems but ' out of balance'/ loose feet is a common problem with both!
It is necessary to ensure absolutely that the machine, even when empty, has all 4 feet very firmly on the floor, and I mean firmly ;-0)

Doesn't matter whether it is empty or not but switch it off then-
very firmly push one front corner diagonally into the centre of the machine and see if the machine moves or rocks AT ALL, even the slightest. If it does you will need the open-ended spanner which came with the (new) machine........which of course went missing a long time ago?!! An adjustable spanner will suffice.
Adjust the foot under that corner downwards until it is very firmly- almost pushing- against the floor but not so far that the corner lifts up!
If this corner did not rock do the same to the other.
Once you cannot rock the machine the slightest little bit, screw the locking nuts up tight to the underside of the machine so that they will not move. Ideally the rear feet should also be locked.

If this has not cured the problem it is possible that the internal drum suspension is malfunctioning.

Good luck,

John C

I FINALLY SOLVED MY BALANCE ISSUE... I just replace the support rods that hold the drum up(they contain a shock absorbtion spring to steady the balance load).... cost me $48-$75(set of 4) to buy from a place, fairly easy to switch....a lot easier than I thought it would be.. after all was done I saved myself the repair money and a SMOOOTH wash...NO PROBLEMS. Hope something else doesn't break now...lol.

Believe F 02 is filter or hose blocked, i.e. water not draining away fast enough. Is the washing still wet when spun?

Our wash machine will start to fill with water and then quits. It makes a humming noise for a couple of seconds and then just sits. No error message comes up.

Sounds like the DC motor on the bottom has died. I think it comes from New Zealand. It runs around 300 bucks. Hope you have a home warranty...

Whirlpool cabrio-buzzing noise when water runs

i think the problem that you have is one of the electric coils from the entrance valve from water. Check if there the vibration comes from there.

Whirlpool noise

Ok can you take the front panel of the washer off easily?

If you can look for the motor pump assembly. Start the washer with no load, turn the water level down to the small and fill with water when it goes into agitation does it make the noise? if not turn timer to spin and see if motor makes the noise.

One other thought, maybe the smell is coming from the dryer?

Let me know. I wont be on line again until Friday Sorry
