1 Turn on the Canon MX700 printer by pressing and holding down the "Power" button. Open the paper output tray by pulling up on the tray. An arm will unfold from inside the printer and hold the tray open.

2 Apply pressure on the ink cartridge tab and remove the ink cartridge. A flashing light on the outside of the ink tray will indicate what cartridge needs to be replaced.

3 Remove the film, orange tape and protective cap from the replacement cartridge. You can throw away any trash. Do not touch the metal contacts on the new cartridge; this may cause the cartridge not to work.

4 Insert the front end of the replacement cartridge into the ink holder. Make sure you are placing the correct color in the correct spot. There is a sticker on the outside of the holder indicating what color goes where.

5 Apply pressure on the cartridge where it says "Push" until the cartridge snaps into place. The once flashing light should turn a solid red indicating the cartridge was replaced correctly.

6 Close the paper output tray. The Canon MX700 will start cleaning the printer heads. You cannot print during this time. The entire process may take a minute or two.

With the printer on, first open the paper output tray, then lift up on the front of the control panel and it will tilt back. The cartridges should move to the removal position. Then just push the retainer clips for each cartridge you need to replace.

With the printer power on, raise the printer clamshell to expose the printer ink cartridge carrier. Wait for the carrier to come to center rest. Remove the flashing cartridge and replace it with a suitable replacement (OEM or Refill/jAftermarket). Close the clamshell lid. You should be back in business. Make sure to recycle the old cartridge (you can get a free recycle envelope from the Post Office). Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks.

SOURCE: Canon mx700 rejecting remanufactured ink cartridges

big issue with remanufacturing is how integritous is the fit of the cartridge, and also the interface. When these are re cut, so to speak, tolerances can stack up, and one thing about Canon, is they are a stickler for tolerances. You may have an issue with the cartridge fitting in the carriage, but not interfacing with the system. Happens sometimes..

The colors are individual. That machine takes the Canon CLI-8. I would suggest reading your manual on what the procedure is for changing the ink cartridges out, it typically varies slightly by machine. There should be an option somewhere one of the menus to change the ink cartridges. When you buy a replacement be sure you buy from someone who isn't trying to scam you. I would recommend Cartridge World, of course, or OEM. Do not use cheap online cartridges, you will only have headache later.

My Printer is saying, some ink tanks are not

If the cartridges are in the correct position, you may have defective cartridges. If you are using after market cartridges, the electronic sensor chip built into the cartridge may be defective. I would remove the cartridges and try using OEM cartridges. You can also try new aftermarket cartridges from a different vendor. This should clear the problem.
Let me know if this does not solve the problem and we can look into other potential solutions.

Have you installed the print head? It's a separate item in a foil colored sealed package. It must be installed and locked in before inserting the ink tanks. If you have done this and still get no lights on the ink tanks, there is something wrong with the unit itself.
