Buy the new brushes from the manufacturer. You already have the old ones out - put the new ones in the same way you took the old ones out.

Brushes angle grinder

First try a good hardware store. Take out a brush and take it with you to match it up.

Why to much sparks in the brushes

Low power and lots of sparks from the brushes is usually indicative of a damaged commutator (the ring where the brushes contact the armature) or burnt or broken windings on the armature. The only fix for either of these problems is to replace the armature.

I need a nut that holds the wheel on for a clarke strong arm 4/1/2 angle grinder

Your local Clarke distributor should have it. Otherwise Check Ebay or if you have a tool repair company in your area.

I have an older clark 4 1/2 inch angle grinder, and am in need of new brushes. have been unable to locate via the web. serial #419888. any possible chance you can lead me in the right direction. ty-david

If you are familiar with 'Heath Robinson'(or not).
What you could do is:
take some charcoal from the fire, and fasion it to the correct shape and fit in place of the brushes,
take an old drill, or grinder, or any high drain appliance, with an electric motor, that's 'had it'.
Remove the brushes, and chances are they'll fit.
Cost: Zero.
Have fun dis-assembling your tools:)

Armature problems

Unplug tool and then remove the brush caps and brushes, at the front of the tool are 4 screws that need to be removed after removing them you might have to pry the gearcase from the motor housing and then it should just pull out if there is no problems with the field having been hot and melted. Let me know if you need further assistance
