I have an Epiphone Les Paul Custom Silverburst, and it's pretty new and has worked great until now. It seems my bridge pickup lost tone and volume for some reason. My volume and tone knobs are cranked...

Need more info: 1- does the volume control still change the level? 2-Does tone control still change the tone? 3- What happens when in the center position on pickup select switch? Put pickup switch in center position (both pickups active). Then take a coin and tap on the pickups. Does bridge pickup sound lower? Lastly remove rear electronics cover and inspect all wiring for something loose or disconnected.

I need to know how the five way switch works. I don't know which switch position turns on which pick ups.

In a guitar with 3 pickups a 5 way switch works like this. With the switch all the way forward( towards the tuning pegs) the pickup closest to the tuning pegs or end of the neck is completely on ( if your volume control is all the way on). The next position (moving away from the tuning pegs or neck) is a combination of the neck pickup and the middle pickup. The third position moving away from the neck is completely the middle pickup. The fourth position is a combination of the middle pickup and the bridge ( where the strings are fastened) and the fifth position is completely the bridge.

I have a guitar im trying to install new pickups on but they set down inside and mount directly to the wood underneith and i cant keep the springs from falling off this does not use a mounting ring or a...

Try holding the pickup in the cavity in the position you want without the springs. Use a bit smaller than the mounting holes in the pickup to predrill the holes in the body through the pickup holes while you are holding the pickup in place. When you are ready to mount the pickup use a little hot glue on the ends of the springs to hold then in place over the mounting screws on the bottom side of the pickup. With the screws and springs in place on the pickup carefully screw the mounting screws into the predrilled holes in the cavity. Try using a pin vice to hold the drill bit or one of those small drills that you can operate with one hand( your second finger and thumb hold the slider and your index finger does the downward stroke). I'm think about buying an alexi 200 guitar, but i want to replace the esp pick up for an emg 81. Is there a place for the battery the pickup will require?

There should be enough room inside for the battery. If there isn't you could do some routing to the body to make it fit. I personally don't have this guitar but more than likely you can position the 9v battery to fit. To keep it from moving around, you can put a piece of sponge in the cavity.
