Instalation
First of all what kind of software are you looking for? Are you looking for the drivers or just regular webcam software? If you're looking for the drivers for the device, you can either go to the manufacturers website to download the drivers. Another place you can find webcam drivers is by going to www.download.com or www.drivers.com. You'll have to create a free account at drrivers.com.
Secondly if you're just looking for webcam software, you can try going to www.snapfiles.com or www.tucows.com and do a search for webcam software, and you should be able to find something there. Hope this helps. Let us know if you need more help.
i already intalled my web cam but it appears black on the screen...i don't the next steps to make it works....

I also get a not connected message when I try to invite someone to view my web cam. I've downloaded everything on the cd that came with it and plugged the USB in different ports but I'm still getting the not connected message at the bottom of the advertisement. Can anyone help?

I purchased the HP Pro Webcam VGA 640 x 480 CMOS sensor, It stated it is compatible with Yahoo Messenger, Windows Live messenger but I'm getting a "Not Connected" response under the advertisement. Can anyone help with this problem? I've downloaded the cd that came with it and plugged the USB into each of the ports to try each of them and still have the same issue.

There was absolutely nothing in the packaging to explain how to use the darn thing. My first computer, believe it or not, and I've spent two days tying to figure this out. Another brand might be easier???
