Take knife cover off.unplug.get a tapered punch about 12" long rotate the blade where as the nut in the middle of the blade has a flat side horizontal.right is tight left is loose.counterclockwise to loosen.Put the punch on the left side of thre flat and hit the punch with a hammer sounds odd but it works well yes it will bang up the side of the nut but it will not hurt anything. If done right it will loosen nut easily.I work on slicers all the time this is the only method I use.It may take a couple of good wacks but it will come loose as you already noticed a socket or wrench will not stay on the nut .good luck.

Your blade should just pull off. If it doesn't that means somebody baked bread in it and didn't remove the blade wash it and the pan interior. The dried up bread dough between the blade and the spindle can make the blade almost impossible to remove. Let me know if that appears to be the problem.

I tried to remove the blade with the method as described by Gavin, but I wasn't able to turn the blade by 90 degrees, so I'm not able to remove the old blade. What can I do now?

I don't know what type of saw you have or what Gavin suggested, but there are basically 2 types of locking mechanisms used by Bosch. One requires a long thi screwdriver and the other is a handle that you need to pull up on and loosen the clamp to remove/install blade. After loosening the clamp you might need to push up on the blade to rotate and remove. sometimes I have seen on this type there is a spring under the handle mechanism that breaks sometimes jamming the ability to release the blades. Let me know the exact model and type number and I will look at a breakdown and see what other ideas I can come up with.

I would like to know the best way to change the blades on a42in lawn tractor it has 2 blades thanks

The very best and easiest way to remove the blades is with an air impact wrench. With an impact wrench it is simple as you do not even have to hold the blade, but with a ratchet and socket you must hold the blade while trying to remove the bolt. Use a piece of wood to wedge the blade so it cannot move.

I need to know how to change the blade.

Table saws come with tools for this purpose. You first must remove the plate next to the blade on the top. Usually held in place with two screws. Once that is removed you use the tools to hold the blade in place with one tool, while removing the nut holding the blade on with the other. Notice the direction the teeth are turning.

Dont know how to install blade

on blade you will notice two small phillips head screws. remove both screws with thumb on blade. with other hand remove the blade. Blade has two parts. The smaller blade lays on top of the larger blade. align two blades together. Hold the blade compartment in your hand upward with smaller blade on top of the larger blade. On the clipper in between the two hole where screws go there is a small arm with a round shaped tip. Put the base on to the blades a fixing the round shaped arm into the blades ensure proper fitting. With hand holding the clipper turn over while thumb is holding the blades in place and replace screws.

Do not know how to replace a blade, no instructions

The blade is clamped to the saw with two screws. Unscrew both screws slightly. Pull down on the blade to remove. Blade holder may have a pin that engages blade. You may need to giggle the blade back and forth. Install new blade inreverse order.

Removing fan blades

Joey Temal is right. After removing any small metal retaining clips (which are obvious and easily removed), you have to pull down ridiculously hard to get the fan blade off. Alternate short jerky pulls with steady downward traction.

Lift up the blade and press the small tab under the curved portion of the blade and push the blade towards the other end of the arm. Good luck. Keep me posted.
