Question about Smeg 24 in. DWI612 Built-in Dishwasher

Open Question

DWI612C wash cycle runs on and on and on. Believing to be a problem with water heating I tried putting a couple large pan fulls of boiling water into machine during wash cycle and this did move it on from wash to rinse. How do I replace the heating element I cant see it it is not in the dish washing compartment? I dont want to call out a repair agent as one can probably buy a new machine for what that will cost. Thank you.

SOURCE: My Smeg dishwasher DWF 64 SSE won't go onto rinse or dry

Easy one first try this to see if it helps

Water pre-heating
Your dishwasher may pre-heat the water. If so, and if the water entering the dishwasher is cool, the heater may take up to half an hour to heat the water.

To avoid the wait, increase the incoming water temperature before turning on the dishwasher. Do that by running the kitchen sink faucet until the water runs hot. Or increase the temperature of the hot water to the entire house at the hot water heater.

Warning! To lessen the risk of scalding, don't set the hot water heater temperature higher than 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

SOURCE: Dishwasher leaks when jet dry rinse is added everytime.

If your dishwasher leaks, check these:Main tub seal
Door gasket or seal
Water-inlet valve
Hoses

Main tub seal
Note… If the main motor of your dishwasher is mounted vertically, beneath the center bottom of the dishwasher, the following instructions probably apply to you. But if your motor is mounted horizontally, the pump isn't serviceable--you need to replace the entire pump and motor assembly.

The main tub seal is beneath the drain impeller. It prevents the water in the dishwasher from leaking out near the shaft of the motor. To get to the seal, which is inside the dishwasher, remove the:

1. Lower rack
2. Spray arm
3. Spray arm support
4. Wash/drain impellers

Then pry the seal out of its housing and replace it.

Door gasket or seal
Over time, door gaskets and seals harden and lose their ability to seal properly. You can't repair the seals. You need to replace them if they've begun to leak.

Water-inlet valve
The water-inlet valve, itself, seldom leaks. But, the water-supply line from the house and the rubber tube leading from the valve to the inside of the dishwasher may leak. Tighten or repair/replace these as necessary.

The water-inlet valve could mechanically stick open. When that happens, the water continues to flow into the dishwasher, which then floods your kitchen. Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher, and replace the valve.

Hoses
Behind the lower access panel on your dishwasher are several rubber or plastic hoses. If the leak appears at a connection, try a new clamp. If that doesn't work, replace the hose.

SOURCE: dishes not clean, water spots

You might have really really hard water which would leave mineral deposits on your dishes,,, something could also be blocking the wash arm from rotating, or the water from shooting out of the wash arm which would result in very poor cleaning results

Soap leaves behind after wash cycle

Could be using too much soap, soap that's too old will clump and not dissolve completely. If your soap is clumpy and very dry, dissolve it completely with boiling water in a pan, then put it in the unit.

In order to prevent any confusion or potential damage, just empty the freezer, turn the power off, and leave open for a couple of hours.
To expedite the process, place a couple of large pans with boiling water inside the freezer and shut the doors.
Remember, unplug or turn the frig off in the process.

Your Owner's Guide for the Rival 18 qt. Roaster Oven with Buffet Server can be found here:

http://www.rivalproducts.com/manuals/MANUALS/RO180BR-C_43_18972586.PDF

Refer to page 6 for complete instructions.

You do not add water or anything below the roasting pan. You fill your roasting pan 1/2 to 3/4 full with water, place in the empty serving dishes, then preheat at 350 degrees until hot (about 1/2 hour).

Then fill the serving dishes and reduce heat to 250 degrees. You may need to adjust heat and more hot water if necessary.

Kenmore Ultra Wash 3 (6651694193) stuck in wash cycle

Hi,
There should be 2 thermostatic switches in the heater area. They are just simple bi-metallic "button" switches.
One will trip at the correct temperature - and tell the programmer to advance now the water is hot enough. The other will cause a shut-down if the water is over heated.
It is the first one you need to replace - I wouldn't bother testing it.

Obviously - disconnect everything before opening up (I have to say this) and only if competent to carry out a repair.
However - you don't know which is which?
To test them. Remove one, put inside an empty can , and put 1" of water in a pan onto boil. Test continuity with a meter when cold - and when sitting in boiling water.
Turn off heat, and see which trips first. That is the over-temperatue one. When a little cooler, the other should trip. This low setting one is likely the faulty one - so will not trip or contacts will be faulty.
These are available online from various appliance retailers.

Cleaning the "showerhead" on a gaggia expresso machine

Take it off, and heat up a pan of boiling hot water and add 1 cup of vinegar to two cups of boiling water. Once the water starts to boil, shut off the stove, and put the head in the pan, cover the pan and let it sit for about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Afterwards wash it really well then you will be good to go. The head does twist off
