It could be one of 3 problems. 1st and easiest, is to check and see if the lamp has taken a dive!
2nd you need to check the color wheel....To achieve this just listen for a whirling noise as the lamp is trying to turn on! If you hear a faint dentist type drill sound color wheel most likely is good. If it is loud or vibrating or you saw the screen change color just before it shut off... It is most likely the color wheel. The Power Supply Ballast could be bad. Most likely it is fine though. If lamp turns on this is not your problem... Good luck and let me know what u find... Sincerely HDTV GURU JAY.

Samsung 50 inch DLP has power will not turn on

Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. Here's the instructions to replace it :http://www.fixyourdlp.com/guides/samsung/bp47-00033a.php It's major symptoms are clicking, electrical sounds, shuts off and on and get the lamp indicator. But if you don't hear any strange noises,tv is around 6000 hrs,2-4 yrs,It's major symptoms are clicking, electrical sounds, shuts off and on and get the lamp indicator, it could be time to replace the lamp.Note lamp sometimes doesnt look bad when it's bad.The lamp you need is BP9601472A you can find it here http://www.discount-merchant.com/Samsung-HLM437W1X-OEM-Replacement-LAMP-BULB-p/samsung-hls5087w-lamp-sm.htm?Click=48173.Have a blessed one!

When turning on the TV, I hear a banging/grinding sound.

Hi,

If you hear a grinding, whirling, spining or buzzing sound, that sounds to me like the COLOR WHEEL,the reason for that is because your color wheel spins at 5,000 rpms(revolution per minute) and something that modifies the balance of the disc can cause different things,Unfortionatelly the only way to check that the color wheel is working properlyis you need to check it out physically

I did some research and I found the color wheel at DM;http://www.discount-merchant.com/Samsung-Replacement-Color-Wheel-HLS-HLT-Series-p/samsungcolor_wheel_bp96-01579a.htm?CLICK=52978

Please keep us posted.

Mitsubishi WS-65313 - Will not turn on

The most common failure are the two convergence integrated circuits part # 267P173010. The two pico fuses may be open as well, which come from the power supply and provide +24 volts and -24 volts.
