My kindle fire will not come on. What should I do?

If your Kindle Fire won't turn on it's possible the battery went dead (if it was left "on" too long).
Plug in the power charger and wait about 15 minutes to make sure it gets enough charge, and then try turning it on again.
If it still won't turn on, try to reset the Kindle Fire again to be sure it's powered off.
Resetting your Kindle Fire is actually really easy, just hold down the power button for at least 20 seconds.

Hp 4720s turned off will not start

are you sure there is power being supplied?
so lights come on such as battery charging
if no lights come on follow power options

if not assume your not turning it on
next if the power button actually pushing on the receiving end or is it misaligned, if you have abused your laptop the button may not be touching.

these probably are not it but it is a good start to help you diagnose if you can provide more information ill be happy to help, such as does it beep at all

When I shut down the computer, power is still opperating USB ports and front button light illuminated,.

In that case you aren't actually shutting it down, you are putting it in sleep mode.
In Start > Turn Off Computer window make sure you always click on the Turn Off button but if you're in Vista or 7 pressing Start > Power sends the pc to Sleep by default. To change that to normal behaviour - the Stop button actually stops the pc - follow this:
1 - Open Power Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Power Options.
2 - Under the currently selected power plan, click Change plan settings.
3 - In the Edit Plan Settings dialog box, click Change advanced power settings.
4 - In the Power Options dialog box, click the plus sign (+) next to Power buttons and lid to expand the list.
6 - Click the plus sign (+) next to Start menu power button to expand the list; in the Setting list select Shutdown for the Power button. Click OK.

How can I fix the 'on' button on my computer. It

After a while of use the front cover of the PC can come loose causing the issue you are describing. What I would do is turn off the computer (actually unplug it to ensure you don't get shocked) and remove the front-panel of the computer (usually accomplished by prying it off starting at the bottom). If you think you will break the case doing this, remove the side-panel as shown here, then check to see if the front-panel is secured with screws. If screws are securing the front-panel, remove them. Afterward try prying the front-cover off again.

CAUTION: Touch the metal chassis of the case before placing your fingers near electronic components inside the computer! If you don't, even the slightest static-electricity discharge can break electronic components inside your computer.

Just so you know, I've removed front panels from computers multiple times. Never have I removed one without some form of cracking/popping noise being generated. Therefore don't get frightened if you hear one, it's quite normal (especially on Dells).

After you have removed the front-panel of the computer, inspect the power-button-depressor. We're checking to make sure it's not broken or that it slipped out of its housing. If the plastic power-button-depressor is broken, check to see if you can position it in a way that it will still be functional. If not I would remove (break off) the power-button-depressor, install the front-panel making sure that it seats firmly, then use some form of a small device (such as a toothpick, pencil (use the flat end), or some other small device) which will depress the actual power-button inside the front-panel.

However, if the power-button-depressor is not broken, simply install the front-cover making sure it reseats firmly. Afterward check to see if the power-button-depressor functions correctly.

If you're still encountering the same problem I would just break off the plastic power-button-depressor (requiring you to remove the front-panel again. Once again, don't forget to touch the metal chassis to prevent an inadvertent static-electricity discharge) and use a small device (as mentioned above, a toothpick, pencil, or other small device) which will easily depress the power-button inside the front-panel.

Hopefully reseating the front-panel will resolve your issue. Yet if it doesn't, you can still operate the power-button by use of a small device. No, you will not be shocked, nor will you come close to exposed electrical wiring (all wiring inside computers is insulated allowing you to touch it while the computer is running). Therefore the use of a small device to power on your computer is quite practical if your original power-button-depressor broke.

Let us know how things turn out.

I have Just purchased a new Reebox irun treadmill. put it on a flat level surface, plugged in power lead. the power button on the side lights up as if there should be power(orange illumination visible),...

Hi Tony

Silly though it may sound, make sure that you've fully inserted the safety key into the front of the console.

When the key is unpacked it arrives with its cord wound in such a way that it looks like the key can being inserted fine but will actually only actually insert half way in. The safety key has to be fully pushed in for main screen to come up.

Cheers

Problems with hp pavilion zd 7000 lights are blinking but it won't turn on

First check to make sure the power is actually on by seeing whether or not the power button lights up or not. If the light isn't on and you have no power try this.

1. Try a simple power cycle. This will correct the problem most of the time. All you need to do is take out your laptop battery. Connect the power adapter and have your computer off. Hold down the power button for about 1 minute. This is done to clear any static electricity that might be building up. Turn on the power button again and the power should come back on.

Tv just shuts off by itself

Don't use the power button on the t.v. itself to turn power on or off. Use the remote. The power button actually gets "stuck" and causes the t.v. to turn on and off, seemingly at its own accord. Make sure the button is all the way out and flush with the cabinet, then just use the remote to power on/off. Hope this helps.

Gateway Monitor FPD1760

Power light coming on when you plug it in but no lighting of the screen is usually caused by the power inverter board having gone bad. Common on the 17s due to their age is a bad bulb or more.

Won't come out of standby

I would suggest going to the Dell website and making sure you have the most up to date drivers, including chipset drivers.

If that doesn't fix the situation you can disable standby by going to the control panel> Power Options, select each theme and disable standby, also goto the advanced tab and make sure your power button doesn't cause your computer to go into standby. Note that disabling standby doesn't actually fix the issue, it just disables standby.
