The freezer is not cold enough to freeze nor is the temperature in the whole refrigerator cold.

most likely you have a bad computer board if the freezer is getting warm too.if there's no ice on the back wall of the inside freezer wall then it's the board.you can check this site out

Refrigerator purchased March 2008, model # 59665969700, freezer on bottom. Refrigerator stops being cold. Freezer seems to get colder, icing up on back interior.

That icing up on back interior im assuming is in the freezer. If its a layer of frost, you have a defrost problem, and should check continuity through the defrost heater and the bi metal thermostat, both located on the evaporator coil behind the back wall of the freezer. If either fail, replace, if both of those pass the check, then your defrost control is failing to switch into defrost and needs to be replaced. If the icing up is like frozen sweat drips on the back wall, replace the evaporator fan motor.

The refrigerator part is not staying cold. The freezer is wrking correctly and is freezing food. I vacummed all the dust out of the back but the refrigerator is not staying cold. It is running...

This can be a defrost problem or the fans may not be running. If the fans are not running then check the fans. I would need the model number to tell you if you have an electronic model or not because checking the fans is a lot different.

If it is a defrost problem the back wall of the freezer will be covered with ice.

This website has very good info on thses problems

The refridgerator party not staying cold... Freezer part is staying cold

Look into back of freezer and see if a layer of frost is building on rear panel. If yes unplug and manually defrost until you can get back with me with the model number. What you said is the first symptos of defrost not taking place. Look around door frame for the model and I will be back later with part numbers. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Ice melts water drips out of icemaker & freezes in a column

If your model is doing that I would consider looking at the defrost components. Look inside back of freezer for frost building a thin layer on the rear wall. If yes then unplug and remove the rear panel in back of freezer and defrost with a hair dryer. You have and air circulation problem or a defrost problem. Sounds like it's trying to defrost but we need to have a look at the evaporator coils in the rear behind that cover. First let me know what you find and we will go from there, Thanks Sea breeze

My 2001 sidexside 24 cubic foot refrigerator and freezer is slowly losing it's ability to stay cold.

Look for a ice buildup on the freezer back wall. If so. Replace the defrost components in the freezer. If no ice in the freezer. Check the compressor fan motor is it running? If yes, replace the main control board.

Frost in Freeze

Hi Frezer Frost.
It sounds like your defrost circuit in the refrigerator has gone south. This melts the ice off of the cooling coil in the freezer section every 8 - 10 hours of run time.
If you are old enough to remember the manual defrost refrigerators, that is why you had to defrost them occasionally. The ice layer on the coil acts as an insulator, preventing the coil from working properly.
Greg.
