I am attempting to download my home videos from my video camera to my computer. Everything seems to be working well except for one major problem. About every minute the recording stops and the message comes up that I am recording copywritten material. What I'm taping is material I videoed myself. How can I rectify this problem? George

I think the camera that you are using is a high end camera which make its files copyprotected at some point when copying/burning.

To rectify this problem before you download the video file from your camera try to convert its format to any video format like .MPEG, AVI or any other format (doing this may lessen the video quality) after convering the video file download it.

Cheers . .

If there is still any problem you can leave a comment so we can further troubleshoot.

The audio codec used in the camera is not installed on your computer. Check the Olympus website to find out what they're using - perhaps there's a download available.

Movies/videos are choppy and unwatchable... Only problem with pc.

Try lowering your screen resolution, and don't download / view videos in HD. Test with lower like 480 and maybe 720. Mine can't even handle 720 by the way.

Keep it simple- download vlc player which plays EVERYTHING. Plug in your camera to usb - start player - direct to usb device and play back.
That file you are looking for should be in your programs directory.

Cannot download video, only Card pictures

I do not know MACs, but a standard 4-pin to 6-pin firewire (IEEE1394) is needed. On Windows XP, plug it in, run Windows Movemaker and you are good to go. By the way, a "DV cable" is a firewire cable.

If your MAC cannot "see" your camcorder, try another firewire device to see if your MAC is the culprit, or drag your camcorder and firewire cable to a friend's PC running Windows XP and see if it works.

No Sound

Youll need to get your camera to a broadband equipped PC and then try the shot videos. Windows media player will automatically download the codecs needed, but I dont know how to get those to your PC.
