Ink may be new but yet incompatible. This could be due expiry, storage or factory fault. The fact is once a cartridge is incompatible it must be replaced. If the cartridge is new you may need to return it and have it replaced.

Hi,

Do you have the Brand, Model, etc for the printer? Depending on the brand/model, in general I would recommend:

1. Ensure that the cartridge/replacement is the same part number/model for the printer.
2. Pull the cartridge (gently, but enough force to remove).
3. Replace the cartridge.
4. Restart the printer.

If you have further details, one of us can probably find the actual resolution.

MY HP printer can print but does not copy

Same thing just happened to my fairly new 7520 Hp.

I shut my machine first with the shut off button and then unplugged
it for about 5 minutes. Sounds like you tried this and I believe this did not work for me either so I just went into the HP official site and downloaded my printer again. Downloading your printer from their
site is easy and quick instead using the cd. It automatically removed my old printer and installed the printer again. The problem has not returned.

Another problem I just had and because I think one of my new
cartridges (yellow) is somehow damaged. I got a black line down
my pages with a note that my yellow ink is missing. Had black line only when printing and not copying. I reinserted the yellow ink and took a light damp qtip and slightly wiped the machine screen on each ink cartridge.(this screen meets the new opening from each
new cartridge. The black line left.

Hope this helps.

The black ink stopped working but is still registering as still being some in the cartridge. How do i make the black ink work?

Printer estimates how much ink is left in the cartridge and there is no way it can know excact amount of ink. You should install another another one.

No cartridge the printer say. i put new cartridge in

It mean that the black cartridge is not recognised. It the black cart is original or compatible? Some printer won't recognise cartridge, if the black and colour is not same type. Try to install the black only. Is it recognised?

Installed new black ink cartridge and it says it is not compatible. It is the identical HP #65 that I took out of it.

Try lifting the lid - does the pritner allow you to remove it? If so take it out with a pencil eraser rub along the bottom and then re-insert it.

Button flashes, won't print

Actually, I figured this out all by myself. After I'd tried everything else, I took out the black printer cartridge and noticed there was black ink smeared all over the back, so I took some cleaning solution that came with some ink refill kits I had, cleaned off the contacts on the cartridge and on the back of the printer itself where the cartridge meets the printer, and it suddenly started printing again. TaDa! It's going again!

My printer wont print black colour on pics or word docs

Hi, sounds like a dodgy ink cartridge. I would purchase a new black cartridge and fit and try that. Refilling epson cartridges isn't a good idea, if you can't afford originals, but compats instead of refilling them. a good place to buy is www.choicestationery.com I've never had any problems with their carts.

HP 3210 not printing black ink

Look at the posts on "black ink problem" later on this site (mostly Dec).

This appears to be a very common issue with this model and results from a serious design error.

You may need to force the blockage out of the black ink feeder system, a messy process.

The 9 offers on "black ink problem" give various suggestions: try the top one.

MFC-420CN does not print black

My yellow cartridge was doing the same thing as your black. So I took the cartridge out, and took a flashlight to see how it works. There is like a little straw on the right hand side which goes up into the printer cartridge, this I assume is to measure the ink. I took a needle and cleaned that 'straw' thoroughly. Reseated the ink, ran cleaning and test print, and then the printer found the yellow ink! You could give that a try. It might work for you too. (I have never used any ink but Brother ink in the printer, btw.)

Try taking out the ink cartdridge and looking at the contacts where the ink cartdridge meets te cradle, sometimes ink gunks up on the carasel and allthough you change it out, the gunk stays there and just block the new one put in. wear latex gloves when doing this, Black ink is pesky on the skin.

Also, just might want to check the printer settings and be sure it isnt set to print in greyscale.
