I bought my daughter the Asus Eee PC900 for her birthday about 6 months ago. We have 3 other PC laptops all using our home wireless without any problems, however on the Asus it connects for limited period of time. You then spend ages trying to reconnect to the network with the doomed status of 'pending'. Then sometimes when we've just given up on it and switched machines, it'll suddenly connect itself!?!?! What's going on with these?

I have her on the Linux operating system, but if this could be the cause, then I'm seriously tempted to switch her over to Windows XP ... although that will leaver her with almost no storage ... arghhh ... any advise would be really appreciated!

My daughter got this laptop for Christmas and we are having the same issue. It's either pending or operation failed. I have tried contacting tech support with no luck. Did anyone here get theirs to work, or should I just return this thing?

I have the same problem with my ASUS that I bought my wife. It has connected wirelessly once and refuses to connect again. It also will not recognise hard wired internet connection. As it relates to wireless it still has not connected similar to others it is "pending". Cannot figure out why. I have changed the network settings repeatedly and it will not stay set to my router settings.

I'm having the exact same problem.  Just got my EEE PC and tried connecting to my wireless network.  No luck.  I just get the "pending" message. Customer Support has not been able to fix the problem.  I'm just going to send it back.

I just went to the properties on my wireless connection, went to the "wireless" tab, and switched the encryption type from WEP to WPA and now my wireless works.

Have you checked the basics?
Is the wireless turned on?
Are you close to the router tranceiver for testing?
Is you router set up to block new computers?
Can you connect to any other network?
Is your logon data correct?
Have you tried re-starting routers , modems and all computers on network,; incase one of these is locked up?

SOURCE: won't connect to wireless internet

Try re-installing the hardware. Your drivers may be currupt. It could also be that the wireless card is not detecting a strong enough signal to connect, try searching for other connections. If the problem presists. It may be a hardware malfunction. In that case you'll need to replace the wireless adaptor. If you still cannot connect, contact your local PC repair shop.

What is bluetooth for?

    • Connect a Bluetooth audio device (Windows 10)
    • Miracast wireless displays
    • WiGig wireless displays
To connect your Bluetooth headset, speaker, or headphones to your Windows 10 PC, you'll need to pair the device first.
    1. Turn on your Bluetooth device and make it discoverable. The way you make it discoverable depends on the device. Check the device info or website to find out more.
    2. On the taskbar, select the action center icon and make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
    3. In action center, select Connect, then pick your device.
    4. Follow any additional instructions. Otherwise, you're done.

I wonder if the motherboard has bluetooth integrated or I have to put an external bluetooth devise

One way to find out:
Click on the start button > right click on 'computer' > choose properties > (top left) device manager > you will see a list of drivers
Bluetooth should be near the top
IF you don't see Bluetooth, you will need to purchase an external Bluetooth receiver.

Ibm thinkpad 2374 manuals

Does it actually have a wireless network adapter? Check the network adapter settings. Does it show both LAN and wireless? If it does you may need to use one of the Function keys to launch the interface to turn on the wireless.

Removing bluetooth chip

Without knowing what the desktop computer motherboard is, I\'d only be guessing as to location of Wi-Fi chipset.
However even if I knew the motherboard manufacturer name, and model number; the point is Moot.

A) You remove that Wi-Fi chip, and kiss the motherboard goodbye.
It\'s designed into the circuitry of the motherboard.

Isn\'t going to be jumper wires taking it\'s place, and making connections to circuit traces on the motherboard.

B) Do you have a wireless router?
Do you have a wireless connection set up?

You can use just a LAN connection. (Hard wired)

C) Suggest if having a Bluetooth option on your motherboard is not an option then use a different motherboard that doesn\'t have that option.
