I have bought a second hand samsung external dvd writer model se- so84 but no disk came with it and it doesnt work with my burning software which is roxio so what burner do i need and where can i get it from thanks

Welcome to Fixya. You don't need a driver since the mac computer was able to recognize the DVD and CD's. If you want to use the DVD writer to burn images on a blank cd you need to use a burning software. Can you please try use the software below and see it if will work.

Click on the finder button at the lower right of your computer then click the application folder then you will see there the icon for your external DVD

Clearly the CD needs to be broken into more than two pieces. Or swapped out for an unsplit CD at the shop, where they can make a copy for you of course. Or or course you write the maker's local office. There's no need for the particular thing though; there's quite good free burning software around.

there arent any drivers for DVDs. The CD you threw out probably had some cheap/trial CD burining software, but that comes pre-set in XP/Vista/Win7 anyways, so you don't really need anything that was on that CD.

It could be that there is a service from your burning software that is not running properly thus affecting the CD-ROM. If you have any of these software, try un-installing them.

maybe your sound problem you can fixit with k-lite codec pack, download and install , you can use xp, vista . 7 etc, if cant burn use the last version of nero abalable
