Empty batteries

Your camera may have been in wet conditions. So "short cut" may have been occurerd. Please firstly put your camera in a hot and dry room. Wait at least one day. After that process. Try again to use with brand new batteries. It will work I think.

Some Panasonic cameras only work with Panasonic batteries...part of Panasonic's plan to dominate the world! Is your replacement battery an off-brand?

New battery is considered Empty

Some cameras, even the expensive Nikon professional cameras have the same problem. Sometimes turning it on and off fixes it, sometimes removing and reinserting the battery works. Sometimes, going into the menu and finding "reset" works.

My camera dies way too fast

If you use a lot of batteries, it is a good idea to have a battery meter (tester). Radio shack has one for about $5. I say this because I've seen a lot of "brand new" batteries that aren't any good, especially imports. AA, AAA, C,D batteries should all read at least 1.5 volts dc. Under test, if the battery voltage drops slowly, it is bad. A very good battery will actually show a slight increase in voltage under load. Make sure the polarity (+,-) of the batteries installed is correct.
If you are sure you have the correct memory card and it still doesn't stay in, it could be that the retainer tab is broken. If this is the case, try inserting a small piece of paper as a shim, and that may hold it in place.
If the camera is under warranty, you may want to return it.
I hope this helps.

Battery empty message

Put brand new batteries in. The battery empty message means there is no "juice" or power left in the batteries. If they are recharagable batteries, "re-juice" them (charge them).

Put new batteries in doesn't work

I keep getting the same problem myself with particular brands of batteries, if even they are brand new.

Try using Duracell or another brand of batteries and this hopefully, should resolve the issue.

Hope that helps...Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

Take batteries out and clean the base of the battery compartment with a pencil eraser do the same with the battery compartment cover contact's now try. If that fail hold the battery compartment tight then turn on. If it comes on then - open the compartment and lay a piece of foil across the batteries and close the lid. does it work? No to bad it dies but you should have a warranty- do you have other proof of purchase?

Please help

It should still be under warranty, sounds like the rechargeable battery has died, either take it back to the shop or buy a new battery.
