Paper jam red light will not go off although I cleared the paper out of my Canon imageclass MF6580

    Hi,

I cannot figure out what the purge unit is. I search the Canon ImageClass manual for the word "Purge" and cannot find a diagram showing me where the purge unit is. I saw where there are some rollers. I rotated them about 10 times (not sure if this is the purge unit), but the red light is still on. Do you have a diagram you can point me to or a video online?

    Thanks,
    Julie

    Hi Shane,

Your picture of the printer looks different from my printer. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that there is a very small shred of paper in the roller (right before the paper feeds out). The paper goes across the entire 8 1/2" of the paper, but the paper is only about 1/2" long, so I cannot get a hold of it with tweezers or it will rip. I took a photo of the side of the printer where I see the shred of paper stuck.

Do you have a way for me to email a photo?

Hi..
red light usually indicates a printer error. on your printer problem is most likely still valid paper stuck on the roller or in part (fixing unit), to be sure you have your printer breaks down all cassing to identify where the problems causing the paper jam.

Hi,

In the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give red light. The purge unit is stuck and not able to move freely. Move the purge unit back and forth for around 10 times and then restart the printer, it should work fine.

To access the purge unit first remove the cartridges or print head to access the purge pads. When you open the printer cover, the print head will move to the center of the printer so that you can gain access to the purge pads

Hope this helps.

Shane

Paper Jam on the Canon Imageclass MF6530

Make sure that there aren't any tiny pieces of paper stuck in any of the rollers or gears. This can cause that as well.

Canon ImageClass MF3240 paper jam fix

The Canon ImageClass MF3240 continues to show "paper jam" error even if someone followed all the possible fix to remove the jam. After clearing the paper in all access doors (both front and back), the printer still gives the paper jam error. Also, if you have tried restarting the printer several times to no avail and the red light keeps blinking, here is the fix to what is most probably been causing the paper jam problem of Canon ImageClass MF3240.

1. Turn off the printer and pull out all plugs and power cord that is attached to your printer.

2. Remove the paper tray at the bottom and let the printer lie at its back so that you can see underneath.

3. Get a flashlight and look closely for the sensor located underneath the printer. The sensor is located in a small square hole, just above the small black plastic "lever" (looks like a small hockey paddle) on the left side of the gray rubber roller. Move the lever so that you can freely look closer on the hole.

4. Notice because there could be a tiny paper shred stuck inside and this causes the sensor to detect a paper jam.

5. Get a small tweezer to remove that paper out.

6. Next, let the printer stand normally and return the tray back.

7. Re-plug all cables and start your printer. That's it!

How do you take out a paper jam canon ImageCLASS D320?

First you have to know the position of the paper that has jamed.
the cardinal thing to do is to loosen and open doors that must be opened in order to have a clear view of the paper.
How to open see the marks on the machine. Mainly the paper jams between the drum and the fuser, so make sure you see any green nobs meant for seperating the presssure roller and the upper roller so that the paper is free to move out in case it jamed between the fixing rollers.
See the manual on how to remove paper jams.

Paper jams on Canon MF3240

Start with the paper itself. Make sure it is in the machine properly. Here is a short guide on a few things to check:

Canon MF3240 Paper Jam - No Real Jam

try this
  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.
