THE FAN APPEARS TO HAVE STOPPED WORKING IN THE FRIDGE COMPARTMENT AND THE FRIDGE NO LONGER COOLS THE FOOD

Get that fan running or replaced because it is an integral component in getting cold freezer air pushed into the refrigerator portion of the unit.

Upper. Part of fridge not cold after fan noise for few days.

The fan probably needs to be replaced. The fan assembly is either stuck or burned out. Air will not circulate without the fan.and hot air rises.

FRIGIDAIRE FRS6HR4HW2 FRIDGE IS SOMEWHAT COOL BUT FREEZER IS SAME TEMP AS FRIDGE I HAVE POWER TO THE EVAP FAN BUT FAN IS NOT WORKING COULD THIS CAUSE THE FREEZER NOT TO GET COLD ENOUGH TO FREEZE

Yes, if your evap is fully frosted, and the fan is not working. The frosted evap will keep it cold but since the fan cant move the cold air from the evap it'll be cold, but not as cold as you'd like.

When a refrigerator door is left open the freezer will continue to run to keep it cold and since it can't cool an open area it will freeze up on the inside, to resolve this you will need to unplug the fridge and open the freezer door and allow the freezer to thaw completely, once it is thawed you can plug it back in and everything should go back to normal after a 24 hour period

Have you tried running it without the fan? I know it sounds funny but it has to get hot (outside the fridge) to get cold inside. Shut fan off and see what happens. Also, keep in mind the more items you put in it that are already cold, or frozen, the faster it will cool inside the fridge. Also take a look up the back of the fridge, with outside cover off to make sure no big wasp nests or similar up there. May need to remove cover at roof and look down if you can't see too good from back of fridge vent.

Hi,

If this is a standard upright fridge (freezer at top), then the usual principle applies: cold air drops.

A small fan (situated between freezer & fridge) should be functioning, which forces cold air from the freezer, down into the refridgerator.

I would recommend you first determine if this small fan is operating (this is the noise you would normally hear, when you open the freezer door) and if not, then replace the fan.

If fan is working, then I would suspect a faulty thermister which would require a technician.

With repairs of older devices, it's always best to obtain quotes first, as often the cost of repair could well amount to up to 40% of the price of a new one.

Good luck...

LG Refrigerator has no cold air for fridge but freezer works fine

Sounds like the freezer fan(FF)is wearing out, This problem is very hard to diagnose because the fan spins but not fast enough to circulate the chilled air thru the freezer and refrigerator. This repair costs parts and labor around $300.00

Refrigerator cold compartment not getting cold fan nor running, but freezer is working

the fan that operates the temp in the fridge is out. this fan is located in the space between the fridge and freezer. You can find the location of this fan by looking for vents in the fridge side of the unit near the temp control. The fan can be purchased at any appliance part house. Make sure to take the Model number and serial number with you to inure you recieve the correct part. If you open the area where the fan is located and find it frozen over your defroster is out. This too is easy to replace and same as the fan can be purchased at any appliance parts dealer. As with all appliances make sure to disconnect the power before servicing

Freezer fine /After power went out twice fridge not cold enough

In back of the refrigerator is a removable panel behind which is the compressor. Listen for a hum and a click. If you hear those sounds the compressor may have failed. Behind that same panel is a condenser where heat is removed from the refrigerating system. Make sure it is clean and check that the fan operates when the compressor runs.

All the cold air from your freezer gets pushed into the fridge with a fan in your freezer section. So your problem is from the fact that this cold air isn't get to your fridge.
- the door that allows this cold air into the fridge, normally in the top left corner of the fridge, is stuck shut and needs replacement.
-the freezer isn't defrosting and restricting the air flow
-the temp controller for the fridge is damaged and thinks that the fridge is cold enough.
