Question about Televison & Video

Open Question

My Toshiba RDXV59DTKB2 recorder has become unreliable at recording timed programmes onto the hard disk. It either fails to start recording them, or stops part way through. They are still there in the top menu, but with "E9" on the left. Can you tell me what this error code means please?

SOURCE: rca drc8295n not recording to disc

The DRC8285N model is a great little machine, however, it will only record to DVD+R 8x disks maximum. If you are trying to record to a 16x, you will not be successful. See page 2 of your manual, and RCA service confirmed it. You can use 2.4x, 4x and 8x only. That eliminates the newer 16x format.

SOURCE: DISK ERROR WHEN I TRY TO USE MP3

I had the same issue and just connected the device to my computer USB connection and performed a quick format on the drive and it now works. You will be warned that reformatting the drive will erase all the data, which will happen. But you can simply reload your music and be back in business... Rod

Having trouble recording TV broadcast to DVD?

My LG DVD recorder was unreliable when recording TV broadcasts to "standard" DVD disks. Frequently it would begin recording a show and then stop with a copyright error message during some commercial. I rarely got a complete show. Very frustrating!

Solution: Buy some DVD-RAM disks and this machine will become totally reliable. They are hard to find and a little more expensive than +RW or -RW. Because of the copyright programming on this machine only DVD-RAM disks will work in VR (Video Recorder) mode.

How can i connect my toshiba rdxv59dtkb2 to freesat

be more specific please. Normally you could use A/V cables to your dvd recorder then from dvd recorder to TV.
from your signal that feeds to your tv just feed to the toshiba dvd recorder, then from dvd recorder to tv, then you should be golden. Just dont forget to set the channel on the dvd recorder.

My Thompson DTR is nearly 2 years old and it does not record any more - even wiped off programmes I had recorded. Shall I just ditch it ?

Nooooooooo! It may be you have no room left on your hard drive. Try deleting some of your recordings and see if that helps. De-select topup tv channels you don't watch (in my case all of them), this can free up to half of your hard disk. Failing that, do a factory reset, hard disk format and retune. You will lose all your recordings, but may well gain your functionality.

Toshiba D-R560KU Fails to record. Error message E-21 E-4 E-4 54037380 Time Schedual starts then fails almost immediately. Using Sony DVD+/-RW disks. Tried from new disks from several different stores.

I read your return email solicitation to me to pay you before any indication that you even have a clue as to how to solve my problem nor even a guarentee should you not be able to. My solution is to block any further emails from your bogus service.

Recording fails to delete

Record another programme so that you have something above the dodgy one in your library. Then go back into your library and press down, blue then green really fast. This worked on mine.
