Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

I have a GE toploader washer. The model # is WBSR1060T (VVSRV1040V, & YVSR1040V were also on the washer too) the washer keeps filling to the max setting no mater what the water level is set on, also it starts to aggitate before the tub is filled with water. So when I put my laundry in, add soap, set washer, and close the lid it will start aggitating immediatly, even though the water is not filled and there is still dry clothes in the washer. It will aggitate until the tub is filled then it will start to drain, and go to the rince cycle. The washer does the same thing on the rinse cycle. It will then go to the spin cycle. The washer seems to be draining correctly, but is not running thru the cycles PLEASE HELP Thanks

Remove the front panel of the washer by using a putty knife to release the retaining clips, located in the seam between the front panel and the washer's top, about 2 inches in from each side. With an empty wash tub, remove the small hose on the left side of the outer tub and clean out the inside of the hose. Replace the hose. Test.

Washer will fill but it does not stop

Your water level switch is stuck.
Probably due to soap scum in the air dome line.
Remove the control console screws to access the water level switch.
Remove the small plastic hose from the water level switch and blow through it to dislodge the blockage.
If it is difficult to blow through, remove the front panel and take the hose off at the air dome on the side of the tub.
Push a small wire into the air dome to clear the clog.
Replace the hose on both ends.
Set the timer for SPIN and run a spin cycle.
Then retry the water level fill.
If it does not fill correctly, replace the water level switch.
