Toshiba satellite laptop won't wake up from hibernation even after holding power botton down?!

If pressing down and holding the restart/start button doesn't wake it up you might try Control + ALT + DELETE keys (together) - that will reboot it though. And if that won't work then you might have to pull the battery to reset it.

It seems that some laptops have a problem with vista and sleep mode, in particular, and sometimes hibernate too. You can try going under POWER OPTIONS under Control Panel and setting everything back to default, saving it, then resetting it again. Also it's best to avoid using sleep mode if possible to avoid problems.

If the problem developed after a recent install or updating you may need to go to an older store point to fix the problem. Personally, I just avoid using these settings as much as possible and use regular shut down and a screen saver for times when I need to step away from laptop for short periods of time.

This past week I havent been able to put my Toshiba into sleep mode. It's a Satellite Model# A215-S4747.

Try removing the battery, removing the RAM, leaving like that for a few mins, and then put back the RAM, carefully, and the battery, connect to power and hold your finger on the Power Button until it boots, then go into the Power Settings properties, and set your "Sleep" and "Power Saving", & "CPU &Screen" settings from there. Reboot and now you should have your sleep function back.

Nothing! Yellow light indicates a depleated battery. My guess is the battery is shot! The laptop is still working and the yellow flashing light has no affect on the usability. Buy a battery if you want it to stop! They are real expensive and may not be worth doing. Keep using the laptop as is.

Power light is on, and nothing happens.

The RAM may have been "jammed up" when it was put to sleep. You said you powered down completely and then started up again. How long did you leave it before turning it back on? Try it again, but this time, unplug the adapter from it and also take out the battery so there is absolutly no power going to it. Leave it like that for about 5/10 minutes and then try it again.

Hopefully that will help you out
