Question about ASUS M2N-MX Motherboard

2 Answers

I was watching a video. All of a sudden PC turned off by itself. And when I booted it. It didn't boot. All I see is a green light around the power button on the processor. The fans are running. But the PC doesn't boot. Previously the light around the power button was blue. And now it has turned green. Someone please help me. I use Asus M2N - LX motherboard.

Try to press F8 several times, when it boots, and select failsafe mode, with network prompt

And update your outdated drivers from here:

http://www.asus.com/Product.aspx?P_ID=0pKBwEIE8tqMT4j7&content=specifications

Remember to select your windows version.
The files you download needs to be unziped before installation.
Try to look in the device manager for old and outdated system drivers.
If this does not help your screen card has a fault.
It could also be a fault in a RAM Block or the CPU.
Replace it with a new one or a better used screen card.

Download a manual to see what screen card your mainboard is
compatible with.

Hope this was helpfull.

This could be several different things, do you have a video card in the PC or does your motherboard have on-board or integrated graphics? If you are using a separate card for video then I would say that would be the first place I would check, you can test this if you have access to another similar card. When you turn the PC on do you hear any beeps? If so this can give you a clue as to which component has failed.

Monitor was in safe mode turned computor off and removed and replace ram. Monitor now flashing RV370 P N 113 A62801 106 BIOS not sure what to do now. to get computor booted back up

Hi...sounds like your video card has died on you. Do you have another video card lying around to swap out with the old and try?

When the video card is sending power to the monitor, the light will be green - if the light never turns from amber to green when the computer is booting, this means that the video card is not sending a signal to the monitor, probably because its toast.

Power light flashs off and on and pc clicks

Most newer models of Dell computers now have a diagnostic LED surrounding the power button on the from of the computer. When you press the power button to boot the PC, the light should be green and remain green under normal circumstances. Any other lights will help you troubleshoot the power issue you are having.
A solid green light means the computer is operating normally.
A solid yellow light indicates the power supply is operating normally but the computer is not processing data. This could mean there is a problem with the CPu or another component on the motherboard.
A blinking yellow light indicates the power supply is receiving power from the wall, but not functioning properly. This generally means the power supply itself is bad and should be tested or replaced.
A blinking green light means the computer is in standby mode.

So use the LED power light codes if your Dell computer has them. Also pay attention to any unusual beeps or sounds coming from the computer. Well, I was sure that the voltage selection switch was in the right place. And I found it highly unlikely that the processor power cable would suddenly unseat itself. Ugh.
Then I had an idea. I flipped off the surge protector and then flipped it back on. Tada! No more orange lights. Weird. The moral of the story: try the simple stuff first.

I hope this helps and please dont forget to rate my answer. Thank you! :D

Suddenly died. PSU ok - will not boot up

Most likely, since there is no power or boot indication at all, it may be a motherboard failure.

No boot, New PS, Green light on MB lights, No Fans running

Bottom line: Either your power supply or (hopefully not) the mother board has gone bad.
Replace power supply (remove old one), take to local independent computer shop, ask them for new unit. Should be around $50.00. - no more. After reinstall, if still no fans, boot, etc. Replace motherboard or buy a new machine. MB's installed probably will run you around $250.00-ish.
Good luck.
