SOURCE: Upgrading Processor

You can not put a dual core processor in there because the board will not support it. However, you are able to place any socket 478 pentium 4 processor in there. Let me know if this helps.

SOURCE: Processor Compatibility

Hi your mobo can support processors of 400 FSB . The best you could do is use a 2.4 or 2.66 ghz processor . Processors of 533 FSB or beyond are not supported , all these are uni core proc., the newer procs., are all dual or quad cores so beware do not buy a wrong processor

Upgrade proccessor

Dear Justin,

The Latitude E5410 service manual shows that the following processors can be used: Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 series, as well as Intel Celeron and it is also shown in the manual that the processor can be removed (it is not soldered directly to the motherboard) . And a review of this laptop by "Notebook Review" indicates that "The Latitude E5410 offers a wide range of processor options, spanning from the Core i3 370M to the Core i7 620M."

Although I do not know which processor you presently have in your laptop, I would say that it can be upgradeable from a Core i3, or Core i5 to a Core i7 620M processor.

Hope this helps!

Regards,

Miguel L. Martins

I Want to upgrade my processor from 2.1 gig to a 3.3 gig, but the wattage jumps from 45w to 65w. do i need to upgrade my power supply and what and where do i find one? i have a 250w supply now.

No necessarily, the present power supply will be just fine, but if you will upgrade something else in the future you will definitely need a bigger one. Luckily it's a simple ATX PSU that can be bought at every computer shop 0 get a 400 watts one.
But you will need a much better processor cooler, the present one will be too weak to cool the new processor.

Upgrade my processor

You can use either an Athlon, Duron, or Athlon XP processor, with a max front side bus speed of 266 MHz. This is slow compared to today's standards. Most of today's newer processors have front side bus speeds of more than 2 GHz, about 8 times faster.
