How do I close the door to my printer? It seems that one of the hinges is broken apart.

If it's broken, you can't get it back together and your prrinter won't work with "door" opem look for the sensor which indicates that door is open, stick it somehow so it should show door closed and used happily forever your printer. If this trick is not possible, no way, take your printer to an HP repair center and get installed a new door.

Both hinges broke after opening the door. Are there any replacement hinges available? thank you,

By checking with your local HP dealer you can either get used replacement parts or they can order a new part for your printer. They can also do an assessment to see what it will cost to replace the part. Sometimes it is cheaper to replace the printer than ordering new parts. You can also try your local rycle place and see if they have the same model that recently came in to be recycled.

My HP Photosmart 3210xi cartridge door is also locked in open

There's no sensor, it's just a spring and a plastic wedge thing.

Using a #10 torx driver, remove two screws holding the right-hand side panel from the printer. (one in the back, one on top underneath the ink access door.) Unsnap it and set it aside.

Disconnect 3 small ribbon cables and one 5-pin connector that lead from the printer to the access door/scanner.

Remove the lid from the flatbed, then remove the access door from it's hinges. Use the torx driver and unscrew the hinges from the main scanner body.

Lift the hinge assembly from the scanner and push the steel pin out, seperating the two parts of the hinge.

From there you should be able to loosen them up, remove the springs, lubricate them, or find whatever the problem is.

Reassemble and you're done.

Looking for a repair facility

At the cover that you opened to access the toner drum carousel, there should be a hole where a plastic fin pokes when the cover is closed. Generally you can use a screw driver to depress this and it will allow the carosel to turn freely so you can remove all the toners.
  1. Close the door after all cartridges are removed and power the printer up again, it should ask you to reinstall the cartridges 1 by 1.
  2. I don't think you broke anything unless you used alot of force to turn the carosel, that noise is quite common if you turn it without that tab depessed.
  3. It's likely that one of the toners is not seated properly causing this issue...
  4. Hope this helps...
