Look at the setting for "fully closed". it sounds like yours is set for slightly than the actual opening....So, the door reaches that location, and it thinks it hit an obstruction, which causes the door to open....While you are there, reset the sensitivity settings.

What I would do is back off the closed position setting so that the door stops an inch or two off of the ground, then adjust until the door is in the correct closed position...

You are correct on the "eyes" (infrared sensors) being lined up, if they were not, the door would not close at all.

DC25 vacuum not picking up just moving dirt around. Hose stretched to max to get suction. What could problem be?

Check filter on canister. It's on top. Might be full. Also make sure the one for the hose door at the back, sometimes it breaks so it will be open. You can manually close it if it's broken.

When I tried to open the clear bin to empty it, the bottom did not drop open and now I can't push the cyclone down. What do I need to do to fix this?

I can't be specific without knowing your model but the crud and gunk that collects inside the dirt bin can restrict the door from opening and closing properly. If the door isnt closed properly the dirt bin may not fit back into the vacuum.

I have a 7950 Bissell. I can't get it to **** up from either the tools or floor area. I tried adjusting the knob on side but still no luck. Any suggesions?

First check to see if there is suction at the motor duct. If not contact you local BISSELL Authorized Service Center at http://www.bissell.com/customer-support/.

If there is suction,
a) Check if the small rounded window tabs on the Floor Nozzle are locked in
their mating slots and not inadvertently lifting the tank up out of place?
b) Check to ensure oval seal is in place at the top of floor nozzle window.
c) Check the diverter knob for proper setting and the diverter door opens and
closes properly. If no, and it does not appear to be broken, remove the floor nozzle window, open diverter door manually, keeping the flat
side of the door against the unit. Set the diverter knob on the tools setting.
Manually close diverter door until there is resistance, hold it in place while
turning the diverter knob towards the floor setting to lock it back in place.
Reinstall the floor nozzle window. (If diverter door will not lock back in place,
go to a BISSELL Authorized Service Center).
d) Check for the black foam gasket under the diverter door. Replace if
necessary.
e) Check floor nozzle window to ensure it is screwed down properly. If there is
a ¼" gap between the window, where it wraps around to the side of the
unit, and the base on the slanted section, reinstall window.
This gap can be eliminated by installing the tabs at the top of the window,
hold it in place, then push up from the bottom of the window to bow the
window, push it against the unit and then evenly slide it down into place.
f) Check half moon window to ensure it is screwed down properly on
CleanView models. The floor nozzle window should be lower to the floor
then the half moon window.
g) Make sure tank is not full on the outside of the bladder.
h) Check the tank lint screen for debris. Remove it to check.
i) Check tank lid and tank for damage.
j) Check float and baffle to ensure they are properly installed properly. The
baffle should be even with the top of the tank

After a brief power outage my Marantec 4700 garage door opener has problems opening/closing. When opening it stops at the fully open position and the lights blink, when closing it automatically reverses...

This is not a sensor issue, I have a similar problem, sensors work fine, garage door is still fully functional, all operations, including safety sensors work properly, just the overhead lights flash. I suspect there was damage to the power board due to a power surge, going to order a replacement to see if it works, will let you know how it goes.

Likely something else. Look at the sensors near the bottom of the door track. These get knocked out of alignment (or blocked), and the system thinks something is in the way and opens the door, if requested to close.

The eyes should have a light on them. Either red or green. If they are green then the eyes are ok. If there is no light on either eye, then this is the problem. If the eyes are okay, then I would check the motor. Make sure that it is getting power. Another thing that you can try is to unlock the door from the opener and see if the opener will move the chain by itself. The door could be jammed.

Sounds like a problem with a limit switch or something getting in the way of the electric eye that interrupts for safety reasons. Clean the electric eye transmitter and sensor of debris and cobwebs and make sure the wires are attached properly. Check the operation of the lifting media track or chain. Has it been lubricated recently? If possible, clean the switch in the transmitter in the car, it may be shorting out.

Vacuum will not pick up dirt. plate in hose stays shut. It has a spring that goes to the plate assemily but will not open. What make it open and close. U6616-900 Hoover Vac Alex

Sounds like you have a valve arm not operating properly. The valve door sould spring open when you lower the handle and will shut when the handle is raised and pushes down on the rear valve arm. See a parts diagram and look at parts 39-41 and 19.

I have an older Electrolux canister vacuum - model #2100 and the temperature sensor shuts down the motor. How to I take apart and clean?

Check to be certain the thermo lite is on and not the bag full indicator. The thermo detector is very reliable, but the bag fill valve often fails. If it is the thermo, check your hose and wand for blockage by dropping a coin through them, before opening the vac itself.Otherwise you may have a bad set of motor bearings causing the motor to overheat due to its age.
The 2100 and all its canister cousins made since 1982 seem to be prone to failure of the dial valve on top cracking internally. The causes the bag full indicator to come on and the vac to shut down.
To open the vac you will need to slide the locking keys and bumpers forward with the bag door open. Do this with a set of pliers. Once done the vac will open from front to back like a **** shell. Be careful to look at the underside hinge are of the bag door before separating and mark and locate the wiring harness . This vac only goes back together one way, perfectly assembled it pops together with ease. If any piece is out of line it`s like a RUBIKS Cube. Take your time . OEM parts are only available through an AERUS Elctrolux dealer or repair shop
