Sounds like your operating system is not booting correctly, if you still have your restore CD's I would insert and boot from your restore (or Windows installer disk). This will give you a clean installation that works again.

Check on your device manger if your video graphics is installed properly. Or any other software is conflicting, remove the old installed dvd software completely and run a new installation. You must be aware that your video graphics is also installed. good luck.

After installing Windows, you need to install the laptop's device drivers (this includes the audio driver).
You can download the device drivers from the laptop manufacturer's WEB site, select your model laptop to download the drivers.

No wireless connection with my laptop

hi thanks for using fixya!

First of all, make sure that you have your internet connection from your provider.

Try to restart your pc or laptop, disconnect the cable from your router and pc, then install them back again, try to do a reset. Make sure that your router is turned on and working properly. Did you change any setting beforehand?

If you need further assistance, let me know!

Please rate me! thanks!

Tried to reboot to factory settings

You have to make sure when going through the setup (if given the option) to install a clean copy and not install windows to another directory. If you have access to a floppy disk drive an easier way would to be to create a dos boot disk and reformat your c:drive. Make sure you do not have any data on this laptop you want to save. If that does not work you can try to get a DOS program called FDISK. It will wipe out the hard drive partitions so that you can reload your laptop from scratch. Let us know how it goes.

Hi there:)

TRY THIS:

call in your provider to change the ssid and the network key

[all computers will be disconnected]

and then try to reconnect them one by one to the new ssid or network name

this should resolve the issue

always make sure that the wireless properties are okay and the same as the router

also check the device manager: network adapters if they are properly installed and no errors on the icon for the adapters. for windows OS[]
